Nope. I'm thrilled. The holidays are so stressful. I lose so much work time. While monotony can become a miserable drudge, Christmas and all is like a damn tornado that rips through my life, messes with my plans and emotions and dumps me into soggy January all exhausted.

I saw a dog sh!tting all over the airport today. Owner looked quite distressed. I can also recommend the Mad Max soundtrack (or metal of any kind) when experiencing an especially turbulent flight. Adds a touch of drama and adventure.

I'll admit to getting nervous every time I saw his icon in conjunction with a reply to something I said. His often sexist comments disgusted me, but I normally held my tongue for fear of a "shut up you millenial feminist" sort of diatribe. I stayed out of a lot of conversations when I saw him jump in. I have a thin skin, but still. There were other times I actively sought out speaking to him. It's a shame. Onward and upward.

I am full of guilt, fear, anger, hatred, and disdain for the holidays with a deep desire to go into a hole and avoid most human contact for a month BUT I'm a week closer to walking. Oh my god, a week closer to being able to just... go to the damn bathroom or grab something from the other room without crawling, hopping, or subjecting my armpits to more pain. Just have to get through these cursed holidays.

Nah. It's a pretty neat cultural tie in. Gives the student a new appreciation of the language and its difficulty to learn/wield. If it's in a geography book, it's just an additional bite of the area's history. Wouldn't be shocked there's a section to copy a Chinese character or study a medieval illuminated manuscript at some point later too. Ties in to local architecture, art, ways of thinking and developing. Just makes me think of the incredible carving in la Alhambra in Spain. Unrelated to that exactly, but in my global history class in high school, the teacher focused on Islam for a whole month. Same with Judaism and Christianity. Touched on Buddhism, Hinduism, various forms of animism, Shinto, etc. I am so grateful he did.

Yeah, well sure, instead I'm sleeping 4 hours max and sitting at a computer all day. I can contort so it's up to the side but no sitting position really works for very long comfortably. And I'm totally behind on xmas presents/cards everything else because of this mess. B!tches need stitches.

Psh that's awesome. We did the pedometer/fit bit thing and rigged a game where you'd battle enemies made by everyone in the office/progress with the steps you earned. It lasted a couple months. Getting video game people to walk more than they have to is pretty much impossible.
