Fine, I'll be the first to post. Depression. End of story.

I'm learning this the hard way. You're obviously a valued asset there, Ink, and maybe theres the possibility that whatever you choose this time, something else will open up again in a bit of time. That's a tough one. Good luck!

9 player trade, Toronto and Sens. Biggest name, Phaneuf. Thank the sweet baby Jeebus that I can continue to hate Dion Phaneuf on another team I generally despise.

My coworker is foreign. However, cultural differences/nuances aside, he is generally a clueless person. And very, very odd. He falls for those blinking stupid FREE XBOX!!!11 ads all the time and pretty much commits mail fraud from time to time for "free" stuff. He is also obsessed with Britney Spears and Lady Gaga. This is his latest. He never ceases to amaze us...

The more I'm in weddings, the more I'm around weddings, the more I want to elope or have a tiny one. Some good beers, a pretty dress, some freakin' pulled pork and bourbon, and people we like. Like, all 30 of them. My complaint started as an awesome. Was asked if I wanted to be lead animator on a major project. Said I was a little nervous but I'd give it a shot. Figured they meant in the animation program we've used for the last 10 years. Nope, brand new program I've never opened. Which I have to learn, on the effing fly, immediately, or risk failing and looking like an ass. Thanks. Wasn't part of the deal or I would've said no. My company is incredibly cliquey/immature- the main animator dude pretty much let me know that he believes only he, the one animator (actually trained), and his friend are capable of decent animation and I suck. So this'll just prove him right. Kill me. Like I needed more goddamn stress and chances to look like a talentless hack. I hate this place. Sure sure, it's a test, you can do it, blah blah

Hanson bros had that hipster shizz down early

Just looked. Oh god. Someone loves their white space/negative space "clean" layout. This means the kids who were in design classes with me now have jobs at major websites. Soon it will all be thin, folksy outdoorsy hand printed style type and arrows everywhere. And triangles. Modern designer peeps love them some damn triangles. We'll call it Saskatchewan cabin chic. Flannel hockey jerseys, craft beard oils for playoffs, man buns.

Nothing big, some stuff on nick.com. I think most of the Korra games were done by us. I helped animate her in a couple multi property fighting games there, too. Yeah, I saw Kranks in the theater as well. My friends dragged me. They honestly found most of it funny. I found myself judging them harshly and wondering if I just had no sense of humor. So cringy. So uncomfortable. Mean spirited and stupid. Ugh.
-
Yeah, the series is really good stuff. I even got past my irrational hatred of anime and fell in love with it. I've done work on games for Legend of Korra since... also good. That movie though... Oh my good god. I've only watched part of it. I can't do it unless it's a snarky review a la Nostalgia Critic. No, worst movie ever award goes to Christmas With The Kranks for me. What an unholy piece of garbage. God I hope no one else here has had to see that terrible excuse for a movie.

Unless you're talking about Shamalamadingdong's b@stardization of Avatar: The Last Airbender.

He was also infamous for generally beating the sh!t out of people, including somehow nearly ripping Eddie Shore's ear off. Reputation helps. Good ol' oldtime hockey... Little better than the early 1900s with on-ice deaths and murder charges.

Life for Billy Coutu in the 20s... Raffi Torres has 41 games. Chris Simon had 30 games. A few with 25 and 23. Raffi Torres again with 21 games. Then Wideman. Bertuzzi took 20 games for the Moore incident. Lysiak took 20 for tripping a linesman in 1983, for comparison.

I still don't believe he intended to do it. It seemed like he was going "aw crud, get to bench get to- GET OUT OF MY WAY oh sh!t that was a ref". That being said... he should've apologized or gone to the locker room as injured to help his case... sitting on the bench laughing and shaking his head just sold it as intentional d.baggery. But hey, 20 games'll send the message home I suppose.

Wait, she is? Dang. As a teen when she and Hillary Duff were all the rage, I kinda appreciated Lohan's existence- she was attractive but realistic attractive- made ho hum regular girls like me have some hope. Then the drugs and crazy parents got involved... too bad. Girl had some talent. Now I must rewatch Mean Girls because grumpy Tina Fey. Might be the only "girl teen comedy" I enjoy.

I know the benefits of the oily, smelly, pungent, repugnant, odorous delectables that you so enjoy. I don't deny their positives. I just can't be around you as your body processes them.

haha I've never liked my ancestral German or Irish food that well, but when I briefly lived in France, I felt the most at home, diet wise. It was a pretty interesting read. My overall takeaway is we're lucky that we're on the top of a global food chain that we even CAN pick and choose different region's diets. Eat what you want with variation, exercise within reason, and don't fret about it too much!

The title of this article sounds rather mean spirited and confrontational- I promise you the article itself is really quite interesting and non judgemental. Examines more historical basis for different diets, and acknowledges their elevation to fad/religious status among "healthy people". Struck a chord with me- so many of my coworkers are very vocal about their dietary choices... and I've thought for a long time most of their nutrition based rants were held on loose ground. Showed them this article, opened up a decent conversation. We really don't know as much about nutrition and longevity as we think we do. So really, leave judgement at the door and just let people do what works best for them! http://www.macleans.ca/society/health/eat-like-your-grandma-why-you-should-skip-the-kale-salad/#comment-block

Headed to NYC this weekend to see a friend before she moves back to the Philippines. Hoping to get some work done on the 14+ hours of train travel ahead of me. Haven't traveled Amtrak in awhile, hope there's power outlets!
