Oy yeah, I hear you. Just mentioning it since it is an option. And I can confirm it's a good car, might get you through this rough spot. But yeah... when breaks on it, waiting for some damn tool to work on its precious German whatever can be bloody frustrating. Get a jeep? Dirty dangles, eh boys?

Same. First round's on me.

^ Wishing i could help d4rk in some way. My parents still would be willing to sell you their VW combi.... premium gas and all :/ Mine's the same. Just add coworker who hit on my friend enough that she left now hitting on me... he's harmless but... Oh god it's just so awkward. I've known him for years and he never did it before. He's married. And now I'm nervous about what to wear again. My first year here there was a guy who would make creepy comments and I just stopped dressing nice. He left eventually, and now I regularly wear nice dresses. Yeah, it's a stupid complaint, and it's not sexual harassment, it's just... uncomfortable. As if I needed to be MORE uncomfortable at this job. Oh god, someone please hire me... The place I really like in Lockport that actually got in touch with me said they just don't have room for me. It wasn't a rejection but... well, it wasn't my ticket out of here yet either.

It's because we have lives and things to do :P

Good point, I should give that a go. So I made the great choice of watching weightlifting yesterday, and this relatively little Kazakh man snatched gold from the favorite and broke a world record in the process. Check out the dance he breaks into after he finishes- and if you can find it, how emotional the medal ceremony is. Bronze went to an Egyptian man who didn't expect to medal. Silver went to Xiaojun, the guy I drew above. He's known to be a good sport. It was really touching. https://i.imgur.com/fSR5O8Q.gifv Also, everyone's favorite #13 wearing Sabre's beautiful daughter posted this article on her twitter this morning. Very interesting view point. https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/olympics/in-villifying-russian-swimmer-yulia-efimova-americans-are-splashing-murky-waters/2016/08/10/0ccdba8a-5eef-11e6-8e45-477372e89d78_story.html

Only if you roll low.

Doin' some sketches of a few of the Olympians who've caught my eye (and that i can get decent reference of besides my terrible blurry screenshots). Can't wait for track and field!

Well, in all seriousness, he HAS a dance apparently. Madiba! Also, the Thai fans at the weightlifting competition are amazing. Wearing full apsara headdresses and just gettin' down. Pretty great stuff.

If the Mandela were a dance, what would it be?

South African Springbok rugby fans trying to do the macarena. Unsuccessfully.

I can kind of see it in their faces. The ones I remember being really controversial were the Beijing Chinese women's gymnasts- their 15 year olds were rumored to be more like 12 and 13, and things were overlooked because it was the home country pulling strings. I think a lot of it is genetics, looking young, but also the strict routines/diets they're probably on. No chance to go through puberty in a body that might not've changed much even under more normal circumstances. They just look kind of stunted to me. Doesn't stop them being incredible athletes, but you gotta wonder. No other team has such childlike contestants.

So this Shang Chunsong's floor routine was bonkers. I don't often have my jaw drop, but she had a couple tumbling passes that were pretty mind blowing. She's not even the team favorite for it. And now Wang Yan is on. It's kinda scary good too. The Americans are just so much more powerful. The body differences are so amazing. Chunsong, 20 years old, probably silver medalist: Simone Biles, probable gold medal winner, 19 I am so fascinated how different they are and how it affects their routines. Both are under five feet- Chunsong is 4'7", Biles is 4'9"

I say it every Games but good lord those 16 year old Chinese women's gymnasts don't look 16. They look 12. It's absurd.

ugh I was just watching that and was really wondering. Women's gymnastics on, watch now if you want to see anything besides maybe one russian and the USA chicks on primetime tonight...

Rather bummed NBC didn't feel like giving the men's gymnastics air time. I guess it was shown much later, and then only a snippet. Kohei Uchimura is being lauded as the greatest men's gymnast of all history, and because the US team just isn't gold contenders, they deemed it not worth showing. I think rings is one of the most incredible feats of strength out there. I'm glad I caught some of it live yesterday. And there's even controversy! The Ukrainian men's gymnastics team reportedly threw their results. Many think it's a form of protest for 2012, when an appeal on a Japanese gymnast's routine knocked them out of medal contention. Babyish, but still interesting! I feel for Switzerland, who would've been able to compete in the finals if Ukraine had decided to throw it earlier. Aggghhh and now i'm missing New Zealand vs Japan in 7s because my office has shite bandwidth.

Steele Johnson is a gentleman; he came second. No seriously, his duo won silver.

Really awesome. Tootoo seems like an interesting guy. I've been following him on social media where he posts a lot of stuff about his family/upbringing up in Nunavut. Just had a baby, too. I may not love him on the ice, but he's pretty fascinating as a person. Seeing Weber in the flesh would probably scare the sh!t out of me.
