My thoughts are with her, you and the rest of your family. Best of luck.

Granted. He would look a bit like a pale peachy pickled pool floaty by the last few sips.

I figured the moat would draw him in. He'd drink the moat, then just pass out in a pile before he could navigate beyond the moat and to his wife's uh... dinner table. It's an awful big moat, guys.

That woman probably has a taser for whenever that sweaty, mobile mountain of putrid gastric byproduct comes near her. A moat of vodka around her part of the house.

"I've got more than enough to eat at home" oh man. There just are no words.

Is yours from that guy on reddit who made megaman sprites for all the teams? Cool stuff! -

All on Gil Perreault's birthday, no less. -
Yeah, that's the one. Apparently it's incorrect and Red Cross took it down- there's an apology on their site now. When I first saw it I was just totally stunned. The photo I previously posted comparing this one to Katrina- you're right about strength when smaller- that wasn't katrina's full size, but how it looked at full strength. Tighter circumference = less power lost over land/water/distance, faster winds. Hurricanes are fascinating, horrible storms. Here's a comp someone did of the continental US, the Philippines for size and the satellite image of the storm. Scary no matter what size, really, especially with the hell it has wrought.

Yzerman is probably grinding his teeth to powder now. This is really gonna hurt a team that was pulling it together. I love watching Stamkos play- hope he heals quick!
-
For perspective- Katrina at its greatest intensity on the right. The Red Cross posted a photo of the storm over the entire US- turned out to be wrong. There are other photos where the Philippines are shown on the US map and the storm superimposed over it. Pretty chilling stuff. I donated to a couple different organizations today. There's a lot of them out there.

Absolutely horrible. Another absolutely massive storm, a "once in a lifetime" type event, but yet there's no global warming, it's just weather patterns, it'll change again in a few years etc etc. Sigh. I'll be looking for a way to donate. A small, lucky change of plans had me out of the way of the tsunami in Phuket, Thailand years ago. It was haunting to see the videos of the hotel we would have been at get swept away. I guess it helped me realize the magnitude of despair that natural disasters like these can bring. Being that it's not North American soil, I'm afraid it will be overlooked as the tragedy has not struck "home". Any little bit may help.

Well, I THINK all his fingers are intact... Didn't get any blood on the work, and that's all that matters!

hahah Glad you like it! And i trusted him with a razor. A RAZOR.

haha nope. Though that would be awesome. Old timey yodeler/blues dude. He's in the rock n roll hall of fame as a guy who helped pave some groundwork for the emergence of music as we know it. He was known as "the yodeling brakeman" because he sang about trains a lot. Yeah. I personally enjoy it, but it's not for everyone. That's awesome! I've tinkered in "metal bands" too. Quotes because nothing ever came together. I'll have to keep my eyes open to catch McCarthyizm. Sounds like a good time.

Most of it. Where I'm from is Detroit south. Which is... fun. Joe the Plumber is from my city. West PA sounds more appetizing.

waaaaaaagh i'm sorry well... uh... I'm related to Jimmie Rodgers.. if anyone knows who that is on here. Was actually just talking about getting a keyboard. I played piano for 16 + years and played in a concert band across europe on sax. Really miss music. But who wants to be that ass in the apartment playing music that the neighbors complain about?

I'm from Ohio. Plain = cheese pizza. In fact, I had never seen a sheet pizza until I came to Rochester. Nor did I understand you could put other stuff on a pizza (chicken, eggs, etc) until I came here. Unless you count Japan, but putting prawns on yer pizza isn't my idea of a good time. awwwwww. but seriously, i would do that to our douchebag cat if i thought it would work.

Your wife's a composer? Awesome! Sorry if that's common knowledge- mighta missed it in a thread somewhere. And huzzah on the medicine maker. Hope it's helps!

My complaint is an ongoing one that has me nailbiting more than usual. I've done a lot of work for a big company (just finished week 9 of 10) and I'm supposed to be getting money. First check should've come about... 7 weeks ago at least. Second check is now a week + overdue. I keep getting the cold shoulder or the "wow, uh, it should be there, don't worry" routine from my contact. I guess the complaint is I'm really terrified the money won't come and I have to do something involving legal ###### or asserting myself as the bitchy artist wanting her money, a role I am NOT good at. So, sweatin' a little over here. It's some decent pennies they owe me, too. Would be a nice chunk to toss in the coffers with christmas coming up. Sigh.

I'm in a beginner's league. There's 70 year old men with hip replacements and hockey moms who've never skated on the ice. I was thrown headfirst into intramurals last year without ever having put on gear and was having mental breakdowns about "letting the team down". I have yet to score a goal during a game. But I'm pretty good at forechecking and I've got a lot of assists.... So that means I'm awesome!

Yes.

oh my god i never thought about this. I'm totally guilty. No wonder I hurt by the second shift.

As to skate baking- I'd been figure skating (nothing serious) in my mom's 50+ year old skates for years, which were literally rotting on my feet. Blades were very flat and I couldn't get decent spins/jumps going. I bought a fine pair of figures, and had 'em baked- there was next to no break in time. It was amazing. I wear thin socks when I play, as well. Of course, not long after that, d4rk threw me on the ice to play hockey and I had to completely relearn to skate- got a pair of Bauer Vapors at Play It Again- they were well broken in already, and have served me well as a beginner. Bought all my gear there, too. (Helped I'm smaller and can wear most male youth stuff) If I ever were to buy new skates, I'd get them baked. Cuts a few weeks of transition off, and is worth the hassle. Have fun!

I can pretty much guess.

As decided by his numerous uncontested shots on goalie.
