Rio Tomatlan is just plain awesome. Went there for a tequila tasting/a friend's gig a couple years back. Took d4rk there at one point, too. If you like hot, it's a great place. I'm bad with spice, so I was downing Jarrito's to put out the mouth fire, but damn good.

Watching the Tyson version now. I'm greatly enjoying it. It's beautiful. The animations will help capture the attention of kids in case they weren't already riveted by the gorgeous renderings of storms on Mars and Jupiter. I was skeptical about the animations/Seth MacFarlane's involvement but... it's good. I've been a fan of Tyson's Nova series- just the right mix of goofy and informational. In case anyone is confused where to catch it- watch it on Hulu for free!

Gonna play some paintball tomorrow at NVP in Rochester with d4rk and hopefully some others. If any of you are around and wanna join in, let us know! Excited to break in my new gun :D

:C I donut get it. I try to sprinkle some creativity in here, it's the yeast I could do, really, and you know what... screw the hole thing. But... uh... yes, I always wondered about gents who enjoyed those long, cream filled pastries.

Valid. I wake up and see that brilliant blue sky (better than grey!) and my brain goes, alright, let's put on a colorful sundress and a cardigan and some awesome heels and let's take on the day! Wait. Oh. Yeah. That's right. Jeans, snow boots and a sweater it is again. Again. Yet again. There's only so much sex appeal I can have and stay practical and warm when it's colder than a dead man's bones out there. My complaint, work related- I've been thrown on a good 3 projects at a time lately. Art director became a daddy (yay!) but I had to take on his workload in addition to mine last week. He's a much more experienced/talented artist than I, and creating content in his exact style was a fun but incredibly intimidating job. Currently working with a producer whom we've had trouble with before- this person, despite being high up in the chain, is inconsistent, vague, difficult, and has poor communication skills and manner. They gave us files for a game two weeks late (they said they'd do in house design on this, of course nothing is done) and expect it to be live tomorrow. I did what I could and am now cooling my heels in the feedback loop, waiting for armageddon to hit when everything we gave them is inevitably wrong. Argh. But it's sunny and my superiors are trusting me with a lot of big name/budget stuff (Power Rangers and TMNT, etc), so that's awesome.

I was doddering around in design land this morning and found John Slabyk. Some of you may remember him as a guy who floated some neat Sabres logo concepts out there around 2003.... and then they chose the Sluggalo instead. Wellp, apparently he's an art director for Barack Obama these days. Doin' well for himself. Check out his stuff here: http://h.dodsr.com/ His logos for the Jamestown Titans and the Stampede are probably among my favorites.

Thanks! Made it myself during a fit of boredom at work. Expect pixel goalies soon. Someday.

Thanks for the rundown! I heard so many names and numbers today my brain took leave.

That's awesome! 'Round the NHL- Datsyuk out 3 weeks with bad knee. Zetterberg is out probably until the playoffs... But I'll be honest, Detroit is making it a close call to making the playoffs this year. Adjust your fantasy teams accordingly. :(

I'm seeing mumbling about something involving Stafford or Halak. But who knows.

Montreal. Not what I expected. Interesting.

Red Wings snag Legwand. Presumably to help out with the list of injuries.

Here we go. Gaborik to LA is official. I think things are gonna speed up now...

Mine's back... it was dead for quite awhile and then showed some commercials sans sound.

It just started working again for me. Hope my luck extends to you! :)

Mine too. Refreshing earns me a couple seconds of blips before it goes out again.

I know they're just waiting for Fasth and are going with some local university dude as backup until then. But it's still neat to see her out there. A girl can dream.

*squeak* Awesome.

Shannon Szabados and Ben Scrivens first players on the ice at #Oilers practice. #yeg #nhl pic.twitter.com/zzPq83a9l3— John MacKinnon (@rjmackinnon) March 5, 2014 I know that there was a push to get Szabados to be the backup yesterday by trending it on twitter... But she's actually at practice this morning?! Is this actually happening or is it some goofy PR thing? Man, I really hope it is... How absolutely awesome! I don't know if it even CAN happen- can some NHL rules guru tell me if it says anywhere that it's exclusively men? I know it's assumed, but is there an actual rule barring women from competing in the NHL? Sorry, clueless, I just think it's neat.

I really can't get over St. Louis. I think I've lost some respect for the guy. I understand wanting to be closer to his family (they're in Connecticut, I heard), but to ditch Tampa and Stamkos and a playoff run for the Rangers, who've been rather lackluster... Even if there is some beef with Yzerman... it's just weird. Callahan is hardly recompense. Goofy stuff.

Loving it. Anyone else hear Pierre discussing men's "big boy pants" and feel a shudder down their spine? I've heard about ten different dudes refer to St. Louis that way but somehow, when that reflecting ball with glasses says it, I want to get counseling.
