I'm honestly kind of surprised it's going to be aired when it is- I thought it was just another game. It's for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The show, not that movie. Can't really tell you much more than that. I'm doing all the environmental design and UI. I'd been working on it for a month and then was told it was delayed, wasn't sure why. Was given new dates and told that while my bosses were at GDC in San Fran, they decided this game is going with Comic Con! Equal parts nervous and excited now. And aware it may get reschedule and not be there after all. You never know! But for now, cool! Also on the awesome sauce side of things- I'm headed to Toronto tomorrow for an environmental design workshop at Imaginism studios. http://www.imaginismstudios.com/ The guy teaching it, Nathan Fowkes http://nathanfowkes.blogspot.com/ , worked on films such as How to Train Your Dragon and Prince of Egypt. It's a dream, man... I would never be able to afford to go to these kinds of things, but my boss footed the bill for all of us designers. Most are going for 3 workshops this weekend- I just couldn't afford the time/money to spend a whole weekend in Toronto. Drive up, take the class, score some poutine, avoid Maple Leafs fans and hide my Red Wings allegiance (they're playing tomorrow night), and drive home.

Just found out that one of the games I'm designing is going to be debuted at Comic Con this year! :D

Maybe he was just so caught up in getting ready/was running late or something that he just didn't think about it? Who knows, maybe he did it on purpose for a laugh.

No clue. It's like people hitting the ice with their skate guards on. I've been told everyone does it at least once. But how? My skateguards come off while I'm putting the skates on. On my figure skates, they were a totally different feel from naked blades. I guess if you're beering up beer league...

Have a giggle at Cammalleri and his skate issues.

I ask that, and then I realized I'm being unfair. To a little boy, I bet those Transformer movies are really awesome. I enjoyed the first one for what it was, a loud, crash boom bang, high tech, metal whirring advertisement for toys. The sequels suck because they're the same thing, just more servings with less wow. I can act all high and mighty and pretend I know something about filmmaking (I don't) and point my finger, but I doubt a little kid is going "My goodness, those cycle bot dudes are racist. My my, what terrible actors Shia and Megan are. Lordy, this plot is full of holes and my ears hurt". To them it's all adrenaline cool metal awesome escape for the afternoon. And then they go to Applebee's after the movie with their parents with a smile on their faces. I don't think we're really the intended audience. Oh well, they can't all be zingers.

:( My condolences, Bio. May he be at peace, and you and your family's travels safe.

April O'Neil is a personal hero of mine. And Casey Jones is one of my all time favorite characters. I wonder if they'll ruin him in this, too. Just yikes.

I have plenty I could bitch about- insurance guy screwing me over, trying to change my existence from Ohio to NY, bla bla, but this is my main complaint. I've been working with the new TMNT designs of the show (they're not bad, took awhile to warm up to). But... this... TURTLESPLOSION featuring Megan Fox looking clueless and out of breath, breasts heaving attractively as she vapidly looks into the face of... what the hell... is... that... the creepiest design of a humanoid turtle dude I've ever seen.... doesn't matter because BOOM transformer SPARKS notsohotcgi SMOKE FIRE LOUD NOISES screw your childhood, I'm going home. http://youtu.be/nCjsWpM9zFU

And because they don't have the Blues' morning teamwork regimen.

I hate Neal and Neil. James Neal. Chris Neil. Few players get my hackles up like they do when they take the ice. That is all.

Old Harrison Ford looks nearly identical to my father. It weirds me out. My father has always worn a leather bomber jacket or dark brown leather trench coat with a fedora. Not in a "nerdy neckbeard RIT" way, it just somehow fits for the guy. And watching that movie, although horrible, was even weirder for me because it was like watching my dad galavant through the jungle with Shia LeDoof. Even more so because he has always dropped classic Indiana Jones quotes to make us laugh. It made me realize my dad is basically a grown up, successful, internationally well respected business man and... Indiana Jones fanboy.

.... misread that as Shih Tzu and was confused/amused for a good minute.

Ahhh ok. Thanks for the explanation! Best of luck finding the right stuff!

If you don't mind my asking, I'm curious what "pediatric marijuana" means. I have next to no knowledge about marijuana, so explain it like I'm five- is it just a strain that's lower on THC or simply smaller amounts? Does the fact it's intended for children affect the reason why the dispensary dude is no longer selling it?

Glaad to hear it! I'm throwing a few bucks the You Can Play Project way in his honor. I'll search out a veteran related one later as well I think. I'm sorry to hear the medical people are being so cold. It's just a job to the phone people sometimes I think. I hope you summit the paper mountain soon, best of luck with it!

I believe the best course of action to take at behest of his death is not to picket his funeral or dance on his grave, but to donate to or start a charity in his name for the troops, vets, lgbtq community, or any other set he spewed hatred against. Truly spite the man's earthly actions and do some good. "In memory of Fred Phelps of Westboro Baptist Church- this generous donation has been made to _____________."

Aw geez, feel better soon bio! Crutches suck. I'm avoiding using them as much as possible. I'm slow on them and people are surprisingly rude towards me when I'm crutching about. One stupid close range slapshot to the leg a bit above the ankle (that one inch where my skate boot and shin pad don't meet) and I'm out of commission for a few weeks. Luckily nothing is broken, but as the bone bruise tries to heal, it's constant stupid pain. I move my leg and it's like a neverending charlyhorse cramp. Hrrrnnnnggg! Small potatoes in the grand scheme of things, and the cruddy weather is keeping the cabin fever a little more manageable, but grump.

Same band as d4rk just posted- I'm in this video somewhere, probably getting stepped on, crowdsurfing, or any number of things. It was amazing. Hutz, the lead singer, drank a bottle of wine and did an extra hour of music because he just felt like it. Amazing live. Can't wait for July- finally get to see them close to home! http://youtu.be/UNJOhFuvsFk

Took a puck close range full speed to the ankle Sunday night. Skated the rest of the game, not wanting to be a ###### because of an ill timed stinger. Wellp, ankle and now down my foot are black and tough to walk on. I guess I'm just worried about potential bone chip nonsense or some hairline crack, but I don't have time/don't want to spend money on getting xrays etc to find out. Bluh.

Decided to check the mail/take some trash out. Looks fairly tame out my windows. Put on some snowpants to humor myself. Open door and walk out without really looking... Realize I'm chest deep in a drift at the door, waist deep on the stoop. Ok ok, I'm 5'5", but still. Waded through Operation Trash Dropoff and back, being knocked over by arctic swirly high winds and ice bits in my eyeballs... So yeah, I guess I'm glad they shut down most the city.

I wondered about that. I saw Liger's post and then saw Zenon Konopka posting pics of the team plane boarding some time after that. Bumpy flights today, I bet!

d4rk has to go into work, so I made some cookies to take with him so it makes the day at least a LITTLE better :( Ended up using what was lying around, so peanut butter choco chip it is. Seriously though, the courts, schools, malls, and a couple other big companies closed down and his place is still open... Sigh.

"I Hope They Did Not Bring Apple Juice" Hockey and Us.

This is fantastic. I'll keep it in mind in case I ever become a hockey mom. Or any kind of competitive sport/hobby/academics mom who stands there with the snacks and holding the coats, juggling cameras and positive reinforcement. It's valid even for adults- my beginner sunday night league sometimes forgets about the fun and I take it upon myself to try to joke and laugh everybody back into enjoying it. Beginners, for g's sake. Not even talented or experienced skaters in a competitive league, where it actually matters if you win! One of my teammates brings the snacks- jello shots for every game and sometimes cookies. It's the little things. It's why I'm not afraid to play anymore.
