I am reading this differently, I think. It seems like the article's focus is on the fact that charges are unlikely THEN it goes on to say the three sources believe it's unlikely to go to a grand jury. So it seems like they're saying it's doubtful Sedita will levy charges himself and, as a secondary matter, it's also unlikely he sends it to a grand jury. So it seems like they're saying both.

Multiple reports out right now that the Cleveland Browns are shopping left tackle Joe Thomas... Thomas is probably the best offensive lineman in the entire NFL right now. He's under contract for three more years with cap hits of $9.5M, $10M and $10M. He's currently 30 so you wonder at what point his body might slow down, but he's a GREAT talent. Cordy Glenn is a solid left tackle which I would be content with going forward, but he's also likely to command around $10M on the open market this offseason (or via franchise tag from the Bills). I wonder what the asking price for Thomas would be. I would be willing to include Glenn, a 3rd this year and a future 2nd. (Just to be clear: I don't think Glenn is worth nearly the $9-10M price tag. I believe there's at least one GM out there dumb enough to make it happen)

Well... That went well. :D

Nope. Family disowned him since he's not in Carolina. Just kidding I knew I was forgetting a Staal.

There are WAYYYY more brothers in the NHL than I thought. The Giontas (Brian and Stephen) The McGinns (Jamie, Brock, Tye) The Michaleks (Zybnek and Milan) The Smiths (Brenden and Reilly) The Van Reimsdyks (James and Trevor) The Folignos (Marcus and Nick) The Benns (Jamie and Jordie) The Staals (Jordan and Eric - other one out of league) The Reinharts (Griffin and Samson - other one out of league) The Schenns (Brayden and Luke) The Millers (Drew and Ryan) The Stones (Mark and Mike) The Sedins (Dan and Henrik) The Granlunds (Markus and Mikael) The Hayes' (Jimmie and Kevin) I can think of a few brothers with one in the NHL and one in the AHL such as the O'Reillys, Subbans, Samuelsons and Hamiltons. I got all of those off the top of my head except for the Hayes which I knew were brother but forgot existed. I think that's the complete list.

They're both under contract next year. Gionta has one more year and Gorges has two. Legwand is not under contract next season.

http://screengrabber.deadspin.com/miami-hurricanes-pull-off-mind-blowing-incredible-kick-1739861960 Wowzers. The refs reviewed it for a long time to see if number 1's knee was down but determined it was not.

Yes, I am HIGHLY cynical of white people. And rich people. Especially rich white people.

Worth a read: NYT: As heroin use by whites grows, parents push for gentler drug war http://www.nytimes.com/2015/10/31/us/heroin-war-on-drugs-parents.html Another example where the majority's opinion changes only when they're impacted.

Kirkman went on Conan once and said the reason they don't have zombie animals is because the comic artist doesn't like drawing animals... Which is a lame excuse for them not to be in the show. It would absolutely add a new dynamic and make it a little interesting. But then we'd all wonder why they never encountered them before.
-
Why haven't we seen zombie animals yet? I thought they were going to do it with that horse, but it didn't happen. Zombie dog. Zombie goldfish. Whatever.

1. We got our 8th point on November 5th at 14 games played 2. Second regulation win came on November 15th at 19 games played 3. Tyler Ennis got his 13th point on November 22nd at 21 games played 4. They outshot an opponent for the ninth time on April 1st at 77 games played Also: they outshot their opponent a TOTAL of nine times last year. They only outshot their opponent in consecutive games once last year... Which was actually a four-game streak vs COL, ARI, TOR and CHI. Fun fact: The Colorado Avalanche are the only team they outshot in total last season. They tied with the Coyotes. Bonus: They scored 13 goals in October last year vs 26 this year (they played 11 games in both Octobers). They didn't score their 26th goal until November 15th at 19 games played.

Absolutely. You could say there's something there about a single incident vs a consistent persona, but I think Kane gets crap for absolutely nothing. I also like that Big Buf has been propped up as an "authority" and some type of great dude. He has also been arrested and had on-ice issues at times. He's no angel. -
I think you're under rating Abdelkader. He's an occasionally dirty but very talented player. He's got a finishing touch.
-
Exactly. I hope he's here for a long time. Guys like Dupuis, Gallagher and Eakin have a lot more offense to their game and fit into a top-six role. Garbutt is on Chicago's third line. But you're on point with what you're saying. Guys can play in the top-six even if they're not a top-six talent, but they've got to have the type of game that fits there long-term. I don't think Delo does.
-
Now wouldn't that be something? Since you guys demanded a speech: I'd like to thank the academy, Jake McCabe and most of all tom Webster for holding this awesome contest. Oh, and my mom. And Obama. Go Sabres. This is awesome.
-
A guy at the bar wearing a Sabres jersey last night looked a lot like some posters from the "what the heck do you look like thread." I asked him if he posted here and he didn't, but we struck up a great conversation about hockey. He ended up buying me a beer. Sabrespace: making accidental connections since yesterday.

When you talk about true draft steals Jamie Benn is number one. Fifth rounder coming out of the BCHL just before his 18th birthday... He produced at a high rate at every level so it wasn't like teams didn't know who he was. 2007 was just before I got really into the draft so I don't remember him predraft - was there any reason he slipped?
-
The contest changed midway because the original winner couldn't take the tickets. It changed to "who will be a surprise to make the team out of camp and be with the team through the first month?"

Tyler Bertuzzi (Todd's nephew) picks on Kasperi Kapenen, punches the unwilling Leaf prospect a few times, then drops him with a blatant slew foot. The refs do absolutely nothing until the slew foot and Kap's teammates have the worst reaction in history. No backup. https://twitter.com/HockeyWebCast/status/660469436776882176

I promise you all Deslauriers is not a top-six talent.
-
Okay so I'm may have had a few drinks but I won this thing, right? I would be more ecstatic than a kid during his first Christmas if that was the case. I'm assuming my pick is the only one that is near the "credentials." Also - I mistook a guy at the bar for like three Sabrespacers from the "what the heck do you look like thread?" and he STILL bought me a beer. Thanks for looking like nice people, Sabrespacers. Goodnight.
