I agree wholeheartedly, Aud. Even with your Jets comment (told a coworker yesterday I can picture him in a Jets jersey now). If he's actually moved, which I always doubt when it comes to quality QBs, the Bills better be on the phone. If not they've failed again.

More weird but encouraging stats from the Sabres: Mark Pysyk (+46) has the 5th-best 5-on-5 scoring chance +/- in the NHL. Zemgus Girgensons (+42) ranks 7th and Jake McCabe (+39) ranks 13th.
-
His appearance in this video made my day.
-
Dave Davis @DaveDavisHockey Holy cow. Even strength shot attempts when Pysyk was on the ice was Buffalo 26, Tampa 3.
-
Maybe. The report was that three specific teams (Denver, Buffalo, Houston) reached out to the coach.
-
Sabres PR @SabresPR With 5 shots between the teams in the third period, the Sabres and Lightning tied Buffalo's franchise record for fewest shots in a period.
-
Ennis overthought that one. HAVE to put it in the net.
-
I wouldn't either. Especially if they struggle with lack of depth this year. I could see them spreading his contract into a few players with a couple picks on top of it.
-
A report also states the Buffalo Bills have contacted Paxton Lynch's high school football coach with questions about him: http://www.scout.com/nfl/bills/story/1608037-bills-inquired-about-qb-paxton-lynch I LOVE this kid. He's got the name, he's got the look and, most importantly, he's got the skillset. Likely going to need to make a big time trade up to make it happen, though.

Sedita also said he wouldn't pursue a filing a false report case against the accuser because he doesn't want to discourage other possible victims. http://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/7/71/1076817/actions-will-speak-louder-words-patrick-kane-blackhawks Report says the team will reassess Kane's standing with the team after this season.
-
So the Lions fired their President and GM today. They'll probably fire Caldwell after the season... And Ian Rapoport said Matthew Stafford's future in Detroit could be in question. Would you pursue Stafford? What would you pay? To me, it's a no-brainer yes. He'll be wanted by every team that doesn't have a QB, though: San Francisco, Houston, Cleveland, NYJ, Washington, Chicago. I would be willing to give a lot for him. Considering the competition and caliber it would probably take a first.

If only we had a thread for this... Statements from the Blackhawks and Kane (Hawks first, Kane second): “We respect the announcement today by the Erie County (N.Y.) District Attorney regarding Patrick Kane. The Chicago Blackhawks organization has taken this matter very seriously, and has tried to navigate a very sensitive situation while continually respecting the legal proceedings. At this time we will have no further comment.” “I have repeatedly said that I did nothing wrong. I have respected the legal process and I am glad that this matter has now been closed and I will have nothing further to say going forward.” Bill Daly's statement says the league will now review the information of the case: https://twitter.com/PR_NHL/status/662321525731827713

Cam Fowler and Matthew Carle are two of the top LHD that could likely be had right now. Maybe when I get some time I'll look around the league for other candidates, but just going off those two for now. Fowler has two years left at $4M which is a good price for him. Carle has two years left at $5M. Either of those guys could slide into the top four on the left side easily. Right now our D is (going to include Bogo because I'm sure he'll be back before any deals go down): Bogo ® - Risto ® Gorges (L) - Franson ® McCabe (L) - Pysyk ® So who gets pushed out? McCabe, right? He's been playing pretty well so I wonder if Murray might be holding off on any deals until he knows more about McCabe's "readiness." If they were to acquire one I imagine the lineup would push Gorges down and McCabe out, but I also think it would mean Gorges' time here is pretty much done. I also think Murray might wait and pursue Yandle as a free agent (probably going to be a battle between Boston and whoever else wants him if he gets there).
-
Yeap. And I think many posters here had the right idea: Samson will be ineffective on a line with grinders.
-
Jack, you can take off the bomb suit. They didn't mean Bogo was going to blow up.

Wait hockey is finally back. That felt like an eternity.

I agree to an extent... But let's not act like the size of the goaltenders hasn't made an impact. Goaltending style has also changed a ton and you don't see these guys skating around or standing up like idiots nearly as often now. I think tiny size increases wouldn't hurt but would prefer some other changes first.

Yes, meant elected. Also, I'm aware the two parties cross endorsed each other so they wouldn't have to worry about it/fund their own campaigns. Weird system for that to be such an easy thing to do. And I'm aware of the one you speak. I've spoken with him once and he was super nice. I've been told he's the cousin - know if that's true? I know there's a few of said family in Jamestown. Not a common last name yet I know of multiple families.
-
I feel like we need a petition.
-
Sadly that's not true. It was 5-2.
-
Likely a mixture of Yikes and Eichel. Which seems to be what everybody guessed anyways.
-
This is my favorite Eichel picture from the day.
-
There are people on Twitter presenting this picture as Eichel "on/in a tank." :P
