  1. And have to pay for his own flight home!
  2. Not sure why there is so much Vesey love from JBot.
  3. The Bills do seem to be on the right track. However, if not for McDermott, would the Pegulas have picked Beane for GM. Are they starting to "get it" or did they just get lucky.
  4. Play like you don't care for Lafreniere.
  5. If JBot goes into 2019 with that line up, he needs to be simultaneously updating his resume'.
  6. So basically he will be DOING HIS JOB. Vogl makes it sound like a supreme sacrifice. With the team JBot has currently, if he didn't fly home and "court" free agents, he should be shown the door.
  7. Driving a 2012 Caddy SRX (Premier) with 59k miles. Drives like a dream. Don't have a dream car. Last time I did it was the 1976 Trans Am (Smokey and the Bandit car with the gold eagle on it). I'm anxious to see what Cadillac comes up with in the next few years. My wife drives a 2000 Jeep Wrangler with 12k miles on it. Yep, 19 years old and only 12k. I bought it for her new. Still have the original tires on it. Oil changes every 2 years whether it needs it or not. It's a fun car but I don't recommend it for a long trip. And the best thing about these cars. Both are paid for!!
  8. Seriously regarding Sobotka, what do they do with him? He was uninterested in playing hockey last year. Just going through the motions. Looks like a buy out is not in the cards. Demote him to Rochester and save a few bucks off the cap???
  9. Maybe I'm just cranky and it's late (early), but aside from the 1st line & 1st D, that lineup is not scaring anyone.
  10. Reliable source or not, at least it gives us something to talk about. The lead up to the draft has been boring as a Sabres fan (unless one feels offering RFA's is exciting). What could we give to get Hall? #7, Risto, and Nylander?
  11. Great career. One day he will be enshrined in the NHL Hall of the Very, Very good.
  12. Concur. I have been in management for 30 years as a COO and CEO. Terry made the money and can do as he pleases. However, I think we're seeing the learning curve of an engineer trying to become a sports management executive. If he didn't own the team, he would have never got a management job in a sports organization. Like PA says, hire good people and get out of the way. I'm concerned that Terry is not the best evaluator of sports management personnel. That aside, he has been a godsend for the Buffalo region.
  13. Good for him. Probably belongs in that position. Phil is a good example of the Peter Principle.
  14. With the volume of RHD not named Risto being mentioned in many rumors, it makes me think that Jbot is not inclined to trade him.
  15. Bottom third.
  16. Same. Risto is Risto. The one thing that Risto hasn't mastered is using his defense partner to his best advantage. He is extremely poor at reversing and using his defense partner as an out and to bail him out in tough situations. He tends to try to bring it out himself or just ring it around the boards. His situational awareness is his weakness.
  17. The Bruins and Blues 4th lines were effective and scored throughout the playoffs. We need better 4th line players not just placeholders until Jack and Skinner get back on the ice. I truly believe that McCabe is part of the solution, whereas Girgs and Larry are part of the problem.
  18. If the team needs secondary scoring, which Jbot has said, Girgs and Larry are not the ones to provide it. ERod on the 4th line is a start.
  19. Agree. Then why has Jbot not traded them for draft capital for this weekend? I feel if Jbot could have gotten anything for them by now, he would have made the trade.
  20. We can trade them, but would anyone want them? That's my point.
  21. Ahhh, my bad. I was thinking Radar was saying the Sabres would say no. Thanks.
  22. Sorry, I was responding to @Radar and forgot to quote him.
  23. It's really #7 for Horvat. BOGO will start the season on IR and probably won't be re-signed next year. Nylander has value due to his draft position and "potential". If he falls flat in Roch/Buf this year, his value will be nothing. I think it's worth the risk.
  24. I'd throw in Nylander and BOGO. So #7, Nylander and BOGO for Horvat.
  25. I'm not upset B-Lo. They all will take up contract space and cap space even if sent down. I would have thought that JBot would have traded some on the list prior to the draft to stockpile picks. Maybe that's still possible. Frankly, the only one on that list that I would be displeased if they didn't tender would be McCabe.
