I'm cumming to the same conclusion.

Everything is fixable with intelligent management, capable scouting, competent drafting, strong coaching and ownership support. Easily said, more difficult executing. My concern with Terry Pegula is that he must (should) know this but can't execute it. At this point, I would try to hire Rick Dudley as GM and Gallant (or Laviolette) as coach. Retreads, yes. But they will get us back to relevancy in the next 2 years.

Seriously ubkev, that is an exhausting year for me. But I worked 35 years to enjoy this level of unfitness and don't want to spoil it now.

Interesting to note that Hasek didn't become "HASEK" until he was 28 years old. While Hutton is Hutton, it doesn't mean that Ullmark, Johanssen or UPL can't be the star of the future. Goalies do take more time to learn the game. I'd like to see what Johansson does under the bright lights. He could light it up and be the future or be a good trade asset. Play him, what do we really have to lose this year?

I really wouldn't mind seeing a Nic Deslauriers type back on this team instead or ERod. RFK says being hard to play against is a fast forecheck and speed. That's not hard to play against if you're not afraid to get drilled. Sheary (or Vesey, or Wilson, or ERod or Frolik, etc) are not going to make anyone cough up the puck because he's bearing down on you. This team needs toughness both physically and mentally. After 50 years of watching, I can tell a team that gives an honest effort every night. Sadly, the way this team is constructed, I cannot say that. Hockey is aggressive and we lack aggressiveness. I had high hopes for JBOT, but I'm really starting to get disillusioned. But hey, what's another 50 years. Oh yeah, I forgot, I'll be dead.

Next year for Lafrenière.
