I remember having a Sabres game (any game) on local TV in the early 70's was must see TV. -

Not that I've seen it in this game, but I think they should make standing on the puck (with your skate blade) in a scrum a penalty.

I agree that Reinhart may be great. It's just he can't do it himself like the ones I referred to. Not saying anything derogatory, it's just that the game has changed.

I keep waiting for first round picks to make something out of nothing. I guess that's unrealistic in this era. Grigo/Reinhart need others to be great. I'm from the Perreault/Turgeon/Housley era. I guess times have changed.

I remember the Soviet game. Korab was a maniac. The old aud boards had a lot of give to them and they were waving like flags after he buried guys. Shoeny as well.

A good GM never has to resort to losing like this to win in the long run. Tanking is not the answer. It tempts honest Sabres fans to be dishonest and want their team to lose to gain in the long run. GMTM had little choice. But never again. I don't care if the second coming of JC comes down from the heavens in 2030, no taking ever again.

Lindback is a UFA. Hackett may be a UFA if he doesn't get his 5 more games in. Chad Johnson has one more year left so I think he's the back up next year. I think GMTM will bring in a free agent number 1 over the summer.
