I'm not opposed to increasing the width of the rink to keep 5 skaters and make the game like it used to be. However I think the width of the net should remain proportional to the width of the rink. Therefore, if the rink goes to 100 feet, the net should go to 7 feet (rounded).

"Skill center" is debatable. I disagree that young, non-injury prone, can play d in a pinch, good fighter, sandpaper guys are a dime a dozen. The question was, decide today who you you would have in your line up tomorrow. I take the bird in the hand.

Nic. I know what I'm going to get. He will always be a need on any team. Grigs could be great or a bust. Don't know. If I have to decide today, I take the sure thing. Hopefully, with Ennis, Reinhart, Girgs and McEichel, we'll have enough centers.

Nic Deslauriers needs to be part of the team moving forward. Need his grit and presence. He hits and plays EVERY game. Opposite of injury prone and is still young. Can play D in a pinch. Not sure he gets the respect he deserves. I think he should be the Sabres unsung hero for this year.

I'm with you, man. Kaleta on the 4th line next year is the right thing to do and he will not hurt us. My bet is that GMTM realizes this and gives Kaleta a 2 year deal to close out his career I worked out hard in my junior-senior years of high school and never got the results the first lady got. Either she was doing roids or I have to do some introspection that I don't want to do.

I understand your point but disagree. Players would not play this hard for a coach that checked out. Nolan is all in (or at least has them fooled that he still is). Kaleta can really skate. He's another Paul Cyr (for us old folks) without the slap shot (and the hate for Ray Bourque).

I would like to see Ennis get 20 this year. That would be a significant accomplishment on this team. Sort of like dog years. 20 goals on the Sabres equals 45 on a good team.

Good stats, Anna. Admittedly, my "analysis" was more anecdotal. They are just playing extremely hard with a roster that is much worse than they had earlier in the year (no Girg, Gorges, Weber, Enroth, etc.).

Sabres playing the better teams in the league pretty even, and at times, outplaying them. Some of that has got to be Nolan and the coaching staff. They've done an admirable job maintain positive momentum knowing they are likely unemployed after the season.
