  1. Yes, get rid of the president, Useless ass Grant.
  2. Risto looking average through 3 games.
  3. He's an RFA right?
  4. Girgs needs to use a wood stick.
  5. NHL got right: Finally addressing the size of goalie equipment. NHL got wrong: Didn't implement what they finally got right.
  6. I want to see Ennis get one. He hasn't scored in close to a year and I think getting the first one will open things up for him. As for D-Lo, he's a glue guy that we need in the lineup. Everyone gets a little tougher knowing that he's got their backs.
  7.
  8. You're right and I apologize. I should never look down upon people that are Holier than I am.
  9. That shot last night was from a goal scorer. Hope he continues and stays. For Matty Mo, he's in a good spot if his worst case scenario is Las Vegas. I've lived in Buffalo and Vegas, no doubt the people are much better in Buffalo (and that's huge), but for just about everything else.......
  10. All things considered, can't complain about that one.
  11. Matty Mo continuing this would be huge this year.
  12. Marcus Foligno 1 shift - Cam Neely 2 shifts - Brad May 3 shifts - Norm Lacombe Got to see more 1 and less 3.
  13. I keep thinking Weber is having a lousy game and then I realize it's Franson.
  14. Here's how I feel, hockey is back, this board is alive, I'm all in, Go Sabres!
  15. Well done and congrats on retiring at 50 and also, just in case, having a wife who will work into her 60's ;) .
  16. So are cracked ribs the same as broken ribs? Never heard a guy with a cracked leg.
  17. I thought our captain Gio was very uninspired tonight. Unusual for a seasoned pro.
  18. I'm trying not to think that and failing. They didn't look dangerous at all tonight. Disappointing.
  19. Rob Ray's grammar is in mid season form. So there's that.
  20. Mike Weber released from his PTO by the Blues.
  21. Great quote and it is that simple. Actually, I made mine simpler. Just 2 index funds from Vanguard: Total US stock and Intermediate Term Bond. 10 years ago, I was in an international stock fund but it seemed to react to the US stock market too closely, thereby limiting diversification. I decided to bet my future on the good ol' US and got out of the international fund. Made a good decision as the US market beat the international market by 6 percentage points in the last 10 years. God Bless the US! Many 401(k)s offer Lifecycle funds that automatically changes the allocation of Stocks to Bonds as you get closer to retirement. Invest as much as you can afford each pay period, and as Ron Popiel says, "Set it and forget it." Sorry for the lecture, but I was fortunate enough to have someone show me how to become financially independent when I retire. I'm trying to pay it forward for those who may not have had that person.
  22. Good for you, seriously. You won't regret it. And thanks to Ink for bringing this topic up.
  23. I'm a Boglehead too. Started in 1999 when Bogle authored this book. https://www.amazon.com/Common-Sense-Mutual-Funds-Anniversary/dp/0470138130 I did what he said. 17 years later, I'm 55 and retiring in 6 months with enough accumulated to live on $75k/year till I'm 95. Biggest thing to wealth accumulation is to start TODAY with as much, or as little, as you can afford. It does take time, but it works. I also found this guy to be a good resource. http://retirementoptimizer.com/ He's a retirement specialist from Canada who provides concrete solutions to retirerment for all amounts of money saved.
  24. Larry Mickey, Kevin O'Shea.
  25. I grew up in NT about half a mile from the Tonawanda Recreation Center in NT (later renamed Tonawanda Ice Time). The Norsemen were the NAHL entry into the new league. It was hockey crazy in WNY (think the "Thank you Sabres year and Slapshot). They had some notable players such as Guy Trottier, Steve Atkinson, Les Binkley, and Claude Noel. Lots of great memories and my avatar is a puck I got from one of their games. Too bad they only lasted one season.
