  1. You're on a roll, Boyes. Agree with all these.
  2. My opinion, that's what they could get at the trade deadline. If they can't get better than that now, don't trade him.
  3. Good, Emelin can cheap shot the western conference for a change.
  4. Yes he does (suite at Harborcenter Marriott)
  5. I think it comes down to C. I don't think Kane wants to be in Buffalo (he lives in a hotel FFS). Anyway, I see him in a warm weather city, and he'll have his choice after this year. Trade him now while his asset value is as high as it's going to get. If the D is better this year and can prevent more goals against, it somewhat mitigates the loss of Kane's scoring. One of the Roch boys will have to step up.
  6. Start fresh. Good decision.
  7. McCabe Risto Beaulieu Antipin Falk Bogo Gorges
  8. Gonna be 56. Been with this team since 1970. Seems like it's me that needs to relax! :)
  9. Tom, not sure what generation you're in, seems like we're in the same one. If your avatar and mine are any indication, we're both boomers. ;)
  10. I'm sure the players will. What about the public? Are we left to speculate as usual? I know "future considerations" used to be a catch-all, but I thought they went away from that. Used to be cash was a future consideration but no longer in the salary cap era. I'm not trying to be pedantic, just wanted to know if the public would ever be privy (couldn't resist the whaley shot) to what the bargains with the VGN were.
  11. Got it guys, the players may know, but not the public. The union should fight this and the NHL is all about secrecy. Do you guys know for sure that what you say is the truth? I get that for 5 million, Matt is a big, rich boy and needs to suck it up. But I find the release of this information to the public would be very insensitive. Do you guys know or are you speculating and/or sharing your opinions?
  12. That would be informative but would be very player unfriendly (and the union should object). Basically, it could say the Sabres trade their 1st round pick to the VGK for them to have to take Moulson. How would Matt feel that the Sabres had to give up a 1st round pick just to get rid of him. The "trade" would be Moulson and the Sabres 1st for nothing (except cap relief).
  13. Got a better deal from us (third party) than they could do themselves. All VGK has to give to us is a promise not to select Ullmark (for example). If VGK said if to the SABRES, IF you can get Beaulieu from MON, we'll take him and agree not to take Ullmark.
  14. Ok. Didn't know the NHL did the "future considerations" thing?
  15. If a deal was struck with VGK regarding Beaulieu, it would be in bad form for JBOT to reneg now, especially being a new GM.
  16. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but how will the VGK's trades be announced? I can't see the NHL stating that "the Sabres traded their 4th round pick for the VGK for then to have to choose Zack Bogosian." But they can't leave it without outlining some type of compensation like, the Sabres send their 4th round pick to the VGK for "we're not going to tell you why". How will this work??
  17. Nice one. That was a whacky incident. Besides one hattie against Boston, I don't remember him ever scoring.
  18. Should we be concerned that Gerard Gallant coached Beaulieu for 3 years in the QMJHL at St. John?
  19. Agree. Just wish he would find a scoring touch. Thus far, he's reminding me of Paul Cyr. He could skate like the wind, hit, tough to play against, but never could put the puck in the net consistently.
  20. Ennis and Carrier?
  21. To be fair, it's probably one of the more difficult names he's come accrost.
  22. Agree. I'd be impressed by JBOT either way.
  23. I like the pickup and the price, I'll get more excited if he's still here after all the expansion machinations. I have been duped before.
  24. Agree 100%. I do believe Bob Woods is a good coach but a clean break is needed. I'd hope for an experienced ex head coach to give good counsel to Housley (maybe McLean, ran an up tempo attack in OTT). For a goalie coach, find a good Swedish coach since both Sabres tenders are Swedish. No communication barriers.
  25. I like this thinking. A little risky but I think we've seen Lehner's ceiling and don't think he's consistently good enough to get us a cup. I'm good with Ullmark/Peterson in net.
