Very bored and can't sleep. I didn't find a thread like this (though there's likely to be one with this group), so I thought what a good time to revel in Sabres past glory. With all the uninspiring players on the team now, I thought I'd give my picks on the best All-Time Sabres line up. I've been watching since 1970, so I've seen them all. There were some really good times. Forwards 7 - Rick Martin 11 - Gilbert Perreault 14 - Rene Robert 89 - Alexander Mogilny 16 - Pat LaFontaine 18 - Danny Gare (A) 25 - Dave Andreychuk 23 - Chris Drury 17 - Mike Foligno 10 - Craig Ramsay (A) 46 - Daniel Briere – 26 - Thomas Vanek 20 - Don Luce 81 - Miroslav Satan Defensemen 5 - Mike Ramsey 24 - Bill Hajt 6 - Jim Schoenfeld © 6a - Phil Housley 51 - Brian Campbell 38 - Jay McKee 27 - Teppo Numminen Goaltenders 39 - Dominik Hasek 30 - Tom Barasso General Manager Punch Imlach Head Coach Lindy Ruff Assistant Coaches Craig Ramsay Scott Arniel PBP – Rick Jeanneret (for those of us that heard Ted Darling, this choice was hard) Color – Jim Lorentz (for those of us that heard Pat Hannigan, this choice was easy) Anthem – Doug Allen Organist – Norm Wullem PA – Milt Ellis

Are u F'n kidding me?
-
Great work on that shift.
-
More lost without ROR than Jack, it seems.
-
Sorry PA, should have been more clear. Why does he sit at all with Falk and Gorges on the team?
-
Why does Antipin sit again? He's at least in the Sabre top 6.
-
Burt Reynolds and William Shatner gave dick a run for his money.
-
Not written, just a conditioned response.

Nelson may never play in Roch again.

I live in Lincoln, NE, 8 hours from Denver, but NHL Gamecenter considers Lincoln in the Denver market. Even though Lincoln is closer to St, Louis, Minneapolis, and Chicago, they deem Denver to be in market so I'm blacked out. Listening to the game so far, I guess I should consider myself lucky.
-
I see Gorges is a healthy scratch. Think the Sabres get anything for him at the deadline?
-
Phil should participate in Roswell's Bald for Bucks campaign and just stay bald after that.
-
Consistency is key for this team. We'll need to see this tomorrow as well.
-
All calls go to New England teams in every sport.
-
He's a streaky scorer. He's In a bad streak now. Maybe a GM will hope he'll be streaky (good) for them at the deadline.
-
As long as Kane doesn't get hurt before the 26th.
-
Beer??? Makers Mark time for me.
-
I was a STH through the Daren Puppa. era. He'd give Lehner a run for his money for that title.
-
That about sums up the whole year.
-
I think it's Ullmark's net next year. I can't see them giving Lehner a raise (which he will want and think gets being tendered as an RFA). And I don't think Lehner will take another 1 year prove it deal. That would be over $4 mill for a backup. Not gonna happen.
-
I was assuming that Ullmark would be the starter nest season. I can't see either Lehner or Johnson with the Sabres next year.

Miss those, can't get them here. Hebrew National and Omaha Steaks (surprisingly) makes a good dog.- 285 replies

Blues look uninterested. Sabres playing a little better than usual. Pretty even and relatively boring game. But at least the Sabres are still in it.- 285 replies

Good point. Especially since Pommer has only 1 fewer goal and 8 fewer assists than Ennis and Foligno combined this year. And Pommers cap hit is $1,875,000 less than those two. Pretty good deal for the Sabres.
