  1. By all accounts, Berglund is a team-first, great guy to have in the room. He's also a Swede. Maybe he can mentor Rasmus for the first few years (maybe even do the Moulson-Eichel billet thing). If he can help Rasmus live up to his potential, then I think his on-the-ice-stats are a bonus.
  2. I'm not even on my way to the station.
  3. I read that the Blues pick was Top-10 protected. I think that means if they finish in 22 thru 31 place in the standings (hence draft picks 1-10), the pick is protected. 1 through 21 it is not. So the Blues could miss the playoffs and finish at 17-21 and we would still get their first rounder in 2019. Correct??
  4. Yes it would. Creighton played in over 700 NHL games and was a .57 PPG player. Would the Sabres take that from Thompson today??
  5. I'm intrigued by Thompson. He's only 20 and is 6' 5" 190. He needs to add size to his frame and probably will. The reports I have read say he skates well and has a great shot. He's played 41 NHL games. If Nylander needs more time and to be patient, why not this kid?? Seems like a more skilled Adam Creighton.
  6. I'll watch every game as I do every year. Jack, Casey, Dahlin and the occasional Ullmark will make it interesting even if the winning is not there yet.
  7. I'm rich and wealthy (it's tough to be one without the other ;)) and I'm as liberal as they come. I'm wealthy, male, white, and in my 50's, so people assume I'm a trump supporter. Nothing could be further from the truth.
  8. Wood Pekar???
  9. Does the 3 year deal make sense due to the Seattle expansion? The Sabres would have to expose one goalie, and if Hutton is only on a 2 year deal, would not qualify. Ullmark should be ready by then and need to be protected. Not too familiar with the rules and may be reading way too much into it.
  10. When I first read this, I thought it was a good idea. Then I thought of Josh Gorges. Wasn't he supposed to be that for the younger D-Men last year. I read that the younger players just laughed him off . The Sabres have a Hall of Fame D-Man as head coach, and a former D-Man as assistant (Hajt). Maybe they need to spend more time mentoring. And FWIW, Bogo always has free to mentor while he's recuperating.
  11. JBOTT transforming the Buffalo Sabres into the Swedish Fish.
  12. With the Bills and Incognito's release and now the Sabres with Moulson (if true), the Pegula's appear to be making a public relations campaign to show a caring side. Maybe they think even though the teams are not successful, at least they are a professional organization and are playing the loooooong game to attract players in the future.
  13. A major headache for the golf course? Imagine how the goose felt.
  14. Maybe he was promised a roster spot to sign? Have to see the contract. If it's a one-way deal, I could see him in Rochester to begin with. At least he gets paid the big bucks regardless. But, would he sign a two-way deal? Did the Sabres have to compete for his services?
  15. Seems like we all picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue.
  16. I just want to wish Jason Botterill good luck. We're all counting on you.
  17. I got the reference loud and clear. Over. :P
  18. For those not religious, how about "Otto"?
  19. From LA Times: After firing coach Alain Vigneault, the New York Rangers have also dismissed two of his top assistants. Rangers general manager Jeff Gorton said that associate coach Scott Arniel and Darryl Williams were let go Sunday. Gorton said Lindy Ruff is still on staff and intends to speak with him before deciding on his future. Will the Rags keep Lindy or will he go back closer to home in Edmonton if the Oilers dump Todd McLellan,.
  20. FU*K Brad Park.
  21. That felt like I watched a hockey game.
  22. He's on a very good trajectory to be one.
  23. Only way I'd trade Risto at this point is if some team takes Okposo with him.
  24. The Sabres to me are like family. I've been with them for 48 years. I can poke fun at them, but nobody outside the family can. Also, this season, the Sabres are still more successful than a number of my siblings. ;)
  25. Casey is taking summer courses and he heard the class "to be the best Sabre Player" was an easy A.
