Interesting point about the right glove goalie. Sort of like the left foot punter. Looks like Rhino likes to go high sick side and forgot it was high glove side. -

Nope. You're still a rookie at my house. -

Any one else tired of the team being called the "upstart" Sabres? -
They're fun to watch and they never give up. That's such an improvement over the last few years when the team made my eyes bleed just watching them.

While Chris' job is to win, it is also about developing youngsters. Not sure he could refuse (nor would I think he would).

Not sure you can make that claim without seeing mine first. ?

TRADE: Matt Hunwick and Conor Sheary to Buffalo per Friedman
Tondas replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
With the encouraging start, I forgot the Sabres even had Hunwick. Not sure what injury he has but it is obviously long-term. Since he's a Pittsburgh guy, you think JBOT knew the injury was long term and would not be a factor for CAP purposes, thereby making the trade more palatable for Buffalo? If it's a career-ending injury,, that would apply to next year as well. -
Tage does need more seasoning in the AHL but I have hopes for him. Back in the day, Rick Martin only had one move (an outside to in drag that Ted Darling called Martin's "patented move"). That move worked 1 out of 10 times even though every defenseman knew it was coming. I'm not saying Tage is the second coming of Martin, but there's a lot there to work with.

Funny thing about statistics. We all know this was a poor game for Dahlin from an eyeball perspective. However, he had 2 assists and was +3. Stat wise, he was great! -

Great win. This will help bond the team. Jack is as happy as I've ever seen him. -

He's got to shoot for that to happen. Passing a little to much. -

Jack and Rhino out. Looks like I picked the wrong day to stop sniffing glue. -

Nice to have a goalie that plays the puck so well. Who was the last Sabres goalie to handle the puck that well, Barrasso? -

Bogo has looked really good this year. -
Good for Fedun. He may get to play more. Was a stand up guy in Buffalo. JBOT did him a favor. Euphemism: Conditional 7th round pick in 2020 = Bag of pucks.

Got to give it up for Bergy. Last night he got hurt, played his butt off, and was a hitting machine. This morning at 30, he's the second guy on the ice. That's leadership by example.
-
I like the deal. I'm not a fan of contracts into the mid 30's so 6 years feels good. To get a player to sign with a shorter term (less than 8 years), I think you have to overpay a little bit and I'm OK with that.

GDT Montreal Canadiens vs Buffalo Sabres 7:30pm ET 11/8/18
Tondas replied to Andrew Amerk's topic in The Aud Club
It was. I hope in a few games/years, we don't take those plays for granted. He is a special talent. -
Agree. And other centermen seeing that move on tape will be wary of it and will have to prepare for it. It will give Jack more respect and flexibility, and may give him an extra little edge.
