No lead is safe this game

Our transition game is far far better, as is the puck movement within our defensive zone. Many times they will make these slick little touch passes even under duress in their own end this year that lead to quick breakouts where I dont know if I even saw one of those types of plays last year. They are in better position as well, much less running around aimlessly, so many times these chances are with Sabre players in position to defend better which turns it from a Grade A chance to a Grade B or C chance. These advanced metrics can only go so far. Anyone who is watching them in the defensive zone from last year to this year can see its night and day.

Yeah but he is really good in shootouts, so that is where the comparison to Lehner stops...we would have lost 3-1 the other night if Lehner was in there.

That building was rocking again like I havent heard in at least 10 years...the Skinner goal and the crowd reaction after brought me back to the Mogilny OT winner against the Rangers and I half expected them to go outside to the Party in the Plaza and have thousands of fans going crazy out there... What an atmosphere. It doesnt take much to get excited about hockey here...its in our blood...on the balance while most people love the Bills, I would place a bet that if people had a choice between watching a random hockey game not involving the Sabres and a random football game not involving the Bills more people here would choose the hockey game...

Why? Ullmark has played very well for the most part everytime he has been called upon.

After losses by both Tampa Bay and Nashville they are the first team in NHL history to lead the NHL in points after 25 games following a year in which the team finished last in the standings... That's pretty damn impressive!

Sabres 1st place in NHL(for a few hours more at least). Amerks 1st place in their division. Cincinnati 2nd place in their division(1 point behind 1st). JBots should be getting every first place vote for Executive of the year and pretty much run away with the award this year... Its really impressive just how well he has rebuilt not only the Sabres but also the lower levels of the organization to turm them into winners as well, just like Pittsburgh had done for many years...

Looks like it only lasted a day...Lightning up 5-1 on Devils...

Honestly, just about everything. What is impressive to me is the calmness they display in their own end even under pressure and the way they execute these little touch passes to each other to get out of the zone and move up ice with speed. Sometimes these can get a little too cute and end up as bad turnovers but overall its amazing to watch just how much better they are at doing this than they were last year...

Points is the first tiebreaker ?
