  1. He didn't have as many friends in low places as he thought apparently...
  2. But look at how many blatantly bad turnovers this team makes that gives the other team point blank scoring chances in situations where the Sabres have the puck and the goalie has no reason to think they are in any danger...I mean a tape to tape pass directly onto the other team's forward's stick while the D man is alone down beneath the red line is staple of this team over the past 3 months...realistically I think the putrid turnovers in our own zone leading to wide open chances for the other team likely explains most if not ALL of the poor 5 v 5 save percentage
  3. 3. Gilbert Perreault was his hero (*sniff)
  4. I don't either, except against the Sabres
  5. I don't get it...I look at that team and see middle of the pack talent and a lot of aging players...whatever they have the Sabres players need to learn how to get.
  6. Who knows...maybe raise them? It's not like our D we had in there wasn't giving up glorious scoring chances every game like they are going out of style...
  7. Guess we get to see someone else step in and play for McCabe...Nelson??
  8. I think the same thing with coordinators in football can be said for assistant coaches in hockey. You can be a great coordinator but make a poor head coach. Housley was a great assistant coach but doesn't seem to be a good head coach. I don't know what the answer is but he clearly doesn't either, and that is a problem.
  9. When is this team going to stop letting in disgusting goals?
  10. All I can think about when watching the Sabres go from first to wherever they end up near the bottom is:
  11. I don't think Pominville has been a disaster..he has been productive when he is with Jack's line, he started out the year on fire, and has scored snice being back on that line too...not out of the question he could end up with 20 goals, that is far from a disaster from a guy his age.
  12. OK...you know it all I guess...I guess the fact Bealieau also said he was wanting to stay here yesterday apparently doesn't matter either...gotta just take a tweet and run with it...
  13. You are wrong. Paul Hamilton was just on WGR and reiterated he did NOT say he wanted to be traded, it was exactly what I wrote.
  14. We get way more snow, but they get way way colder.
  15. Actualy *he* didn't. See above.
  16. No he didn't. He said he wanted to stay in Buffalo but he wanetd to play more. He said his first preference was to stay here but if he wasn't going to play then he wanted to go somewhere he could. definitely not the same as "asking" to be traded.
  17. If I was diong it now I would be going to a virtual campus at a REAL College. Cheaper tuition in many cases, no room/board costs and the degree is from the same school. Nobody will know it's a virtual campus unless you put it on the resume. Curriculum is the same and its very well done now as wll. Would be able to graduate with a degree for under $25K for all 4 years in many cases.
  18. I was listening to it too...said he would get off the team bus and go to the luggage area and start throwing guys bags out on the ground until he found his and then yell at the team assistants responsible for loading the bus and say "I'm the head coach of the xxxx team! Why isn't my bag on top!?"
  19. I see no way TB is trading Point, a guy who has 35 goals and 78 points in 60 games...why would they even consider it?
  20. Pretty wild last 24 hours...roofs blown off, roofs caving in...ice boom broke...anything not tied down getting blown around...all the schools closed Peak Wind Gust at Niagara Falls and Dunkirk was 74 mph, Buffalo Airport 69 mph with sustained winds over 55 mph for several hours... About 65K people lost power...luckily I wasn't one of them... and to top it off, Lake Effect Snow coming all the way from lake Huron over 400 miles away...we can't catch a break lol...
  21. Not no more, Billy...
  22. Brandon Montour?
  23. I dunno...there is tons of data from advanced metrics that show the Sabres are notably worse when he is on the ice versus when he isn't...Schopp on WGR brings this up a lot and I looked to verify and its true... The issue is since he is never hurt we don't have any sample size to see what happens when he is out of the lineup for an extended period of time versus when he isn't. At least this would show if the problem is him playing against the top guys on the other team so much or if its something other than that.
  24. Grape Nuts....I loved that cereal as a kid but i was never willing to get up 30 minutes early just to eat it because it took you that much longer to chew it than any other cereal...
  25. Yeah whatever it is its really bad...he was grabbing at it as soon as he hit the ice and then did the "scoot like an injured animal" on the ground...afraid it might be an ACL with how his skate stuck in the ice and his body twisted when he went down... Doubt we see him anymore this year...hopefully it isn't the last time we see him in a Sabres uniform...
