If they don't buy out Leino, then technically a smart move would be to buy out Myers and Ehrhoff only if they agree to sign back with the team as UFA's for 8 year contracts (the max term for resigning with your current team) for whatever the league minimum is ($1.5 mil I think?). It'd cost Pegula $$$ to do the maneuver, but it'd ensure that you have 2 star players locked up for 8 years with a total cap hit of $3 mil a year. Pegula front-loaded their contracts already so they got a lot of their money, and it'd be a win-win since the cap savings would ensure that the team can afford better talent to play with them.
