Well if we got a guy like Toffolli, then he can play straight away, but it might not be enough to convince the other two to stay And I agree with people saying DR must have a few teams with fairly firm offers if he has asked for the list, otherwise this is just going to hurt resign relationships

I heard a rumour Montreal were looking at Regehr and Pommers. I presumed it was just standard trade deadline ######. Maybe not. The return best be really good. If this return is picks and prospects who can't play now, then I think we say good bye to Miller and Vanek in a trade or FA - all three of these guys want to win

Not really - just Tofolli

Prediction time: which of the "big 3" (hah!) will be traded by Wednesday?

Ah another symbolism thing Goose - Scared Roy - Lazy Pominville - Soft Stafford - Inconsistent Leino - How Pegula presence hasn't helped Kaleta - Reckless Myers - Regression Ellis - Lack of talent Gerbe - Diminutive stature Miller - Overpaid Is this all of them? Maybe greed, lust or pride? -

Out of interest, why do so many people want to move Pominville? He seems like the best one to stay - he is solid 2-way, consistent, durable, able to score and a leader - his numbers are very similar to Vanek's over their careers It seems a lot of people are saying things like "It's time for Pominville to move on" -
Very good signing

Damn Sekera - both goals are caused by you not tying up your ###### man -

Guess Lundqvist is also mediocre - i'll let the Rags know -
I presume he means they can resign with their team in free agency. Which has always been true. If Iginla wins the cup, I wouldn't be shocked if he resigned with Calgary for 1 year and got traded at the deadline again for picks (if they aren't in the hunt)

He still has 10+ minutes so far -
I think our stars have more value than most people give them credit for. A trade/extension is not out of the question. If we trade our big names we are easily 2/3 years from competing, whereas I think making a few moves this offseason and we can do a Montreal style last to top style move

If only Ruff hadn't ruined him he could have been a star by now :( -
I think it does depend a bit, but: a) I doubt we really do a "hockey trade" this deadline b) I think the core have some reservations about the team getting younger - i.e. I'm not sure they like the idea of the Sabres building around younger players and have them as the extra vet. Understandable, if you are getting older would you want to play for an organisation that won't commit to winning for a few years The best trade would be a mike Richards - get a young stud (Schenn) and a young but established player (Simmonds)

I think you either keep all three, or you trade/lose all three. If we trade anyone of them it shows we are in rebuild mode. If we are in rebuild mode all three have said they don't want to stay. I really don't see this as a keep x trade y and z situation

Silence and criticism. I bet every player in the league wants to play in front of that. No wonder they are all fighting to come to Buffalo -
It seems that the upper talent is good. But drops off to a normal level. It isnt a shallow draft, but it is not nearly as deep as pundits first thought. I would say the top 3 are of the same talent of the 1st over all and the top 10 have the talent of a normal top 5, after that it drops to normal

http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=663039&navid=nhl:topheads Really interesting article. It seems the core all have the same answer - they would like to stay with Buffalo, but not too much if there is a big rebuild

I always imagined Darcy as the kind of man who mutters to himself when alone, so this revelation didn't shock me. I just like the fact he is now admitting to it -

The hatred rotates - it is fair that way. This week is is Ennis and Pommer, last week it was Miller and Hecht. I believe next week it is Foligno and Sekera -
Can't say I'm that sad. Time to stack the draft picks

It's a shortened season. I have no problem them throwing this one away and getting a high pick -

The move works - he beat Holtby clean. I agree about Ennis, for someone who can stick handle well he isnt that good in the shootout I like how the whipping boy gets rotated - it makes it fair. Is Foligno next week? Closer to a higher pick at the evry least :) -

Why does Myers have so much ice time? is he playing well? -
In fairness, one of those goals as an open net and his assist came on the PP. Also it sounds like Gibson made some spectacular saves - but I don't speak French and it was the radio so... :P
