Sigh. Ok, I apologise for expecting people to use their own brains. 
  
Vanek and Pominville both have 10 points in the last 18 games, thus neither of these guys are 
a) carrying the team 
b) living up to previous standards 
  
This is troubling because we have two real opportunities  should we want to, to trade them - the draft and the deadline - and one of these opportunities is today. If both these guys are going to want $7 million+ salaries in an extension, is it better to trade them off now/at the draft? Rather than pay them for mediocre performance  
  
Neither guy has played under any other coach than Ruff (in the NHL) before this season, and their adaption to a new coach has not been smooth. If both are going to command big salaries but have less than stellar ppg then we should trade them off. Alternatively it could be they don't want to play for Ruff-less Sabres. 
  
The reason we have heard about Pommers is because he has the limited NTC, but Vanek doesn't. Maybe Regier is actively shopping both. Will be an interesting day.
