Lots of good college players aren't drafted because they take a little longer to mature/grow etc. and so they are not draft worthy at 18 but at 22 they are decent guys. Other teams liked Rudy but the Sabres promised him playing time this season in the NHL, which beat out competition.

Probably broke one of the two in the lower leg, so has the other bone for support, hence why he could get off the ice Marfan syndrome doesn't give brittle bones How do we know Ott and Miller laid into him? Or are we just getting Paraplegic athletes manage to maintain shape - i'm sure there is something he can do. No excuses
-
Plus they'll probably win the lottery
-
Very few players (especially forwards) are actually consistent - we just don't realise it because we don't watch many games of other teams

Yandle is not great defensively and has an insane offensive start rate. He is a good offensive D-man. He is a bad all round D-man. Mike Green is better in his own zone

1) I love that guy! Players: Jason Pominville, Ryan Miller, Cody Hodgson, Mark Pysyk (early edition I know, but love how simple he keeps it) and Mike Weber Others: Mike Robitaille (love his game comments), Rick Jenneret, Terry Pegula (it might not have worked so far, but he is a huge help to the Sabres/WNY) 2) He can play on my team. Players: Tyler Ennis, Thomas Vanek, Christian Ehrhoff, Steve Ott, Tyler Myers, Pat Kaleta, Andrej Sekera and Jochen Hecht Others: Ted Black, Rob Ray 3) I wouldn't cry if he went elsewhere. Players: Marcus Folidno, Ville Leino, Corey Tropp, Jhonas Enroth, Adam Pardy, Kevin Porter, John Scott, Matt Ellis, Cody McCormick, Mikhail Grigorenko Others: Ron Rolston, Paul Hamilton, Harry Neale, Darcy Regier, John Vogl, Brian Duff 4) Get him out of here now! Players: Drew Stafford, Luke Adam, Brian Flynn and Nathan Gerbe (it hurts to put him here as he seems like a lovely person, but he is a tweener) Others: Jerry Sullivan, Bucky Gleason, Mike Harrington

What do you mean by fan group? I'm not familiar with these Also soccer has a much richer tradition for the fans - e.g. when Newcastle play Sunderland (two rivals), there is a 'chant' where Newcastle get out their car keys and jingle them, this is because historically sunderland was the poorer city and people couldn't afford cars. Alternatively, when Oxford plays Cambridge Oxford have a saying called shoe the Tabs (derogatory name for Cambridge people), so people take off their shoes and wave them at the Tabs chanting - it is fun to be part of. This is why I really like(d) the Taro chants of old, it is a shame they died out On the flip side to European passion is NA 'niceness' (for lack of a better word). Soccer home and away team supporters still have police separating them and they have to go to different parts of the stadium. When I went to Buffalo my dad/I were shocked by how nice people were and how Leaf fans and Sabre fans were joking in the toilets at the end of the game Although I think a major reason is that, whilst tickets are still expensive, a lot of fans still go. Whereas it seems a lot of Buffalo (and Toronto) seats are taken by businesses A good atmosphere helps everyone - the players enjoy it more and it is fun to be part of that atmosphere as a fan

They can afford to lose two of their last 9...they just lost 1 with eight games to go -

The first goal was a freak bounce and the second goal was a major turnover from Vanek. Myers hasn't looked good tonight but there are other reasons he is a -2. The Vanek, Ennis and Stafford line are all -3 -

Vanek, Stafford and Ennis....0 goals on 3 2-on-1s and a -3 -

Foligno should be in the AHL, he just isn't NHL ready -

Our inability to convert on odd man rushes is infuriating - have we scored one all year? We make the wrong decision without fail -

This game is pretty brutal. Three 2-on-1s and a lovely pick off by Vanek, but no goals. One major defensive blunder and one unlucky bounce and we are 2-0 down -
When I was deciding who to support, my choice came down to the Pens or the Sabres...

The same reason people cheer - outlet of emotion mainly. I think the booing has gotten out of hand this season and has become an established part of the crowd's response, rather than a result of people boiling over. But I really don't think it helps players wanting to play here. On TV the arena sounds silent or booing, if the crowd was bipolar and went wild after a goal it would be different. Everyone seems to calm down from a goal pretty quickly and get back into booing mode easily. Also booing when they are leading makes no sense - their goal is to win, they are doing that, i don't care how they play to get that W

Armia's team has made it to the playoffs final against Barkov's team (although Barkov is injured). Armia plays as the top-line RW

I doubt Leino goes. You get two buyouts, they can be used either this summer or next summer, you still pay the player but it doesn't count towards the cap. We lack top 6 wingers as it is, we need Leino - plus he put up good numbers this year. -
Most of the teams we play (NYRx2, WPGx2, NYI, PHI) are the ones in the race - so they are really 4 point games. I think if we get 9 those 12 points and 2 out of the remaining other 6 we make the playoffs with 49 points
-
The arena is silent for 90% of the game. Fans might not whine, but that is very little atmosphere. I think players would put up with booing if the alternative wasn't silence
-
They gave up the first last year

I agree with all this. However, it is really hard to know what it is like behind closed doors. We have literally no idea of what the perception of DR is. Is he the yin to Feaster's yang? Maybe. Or maybe he is just a normal GM - not that many trades happen around the league, and DR must have made more in the last 2 years than most GMs I also don't criticise DR for not 'fire selling' players for the sake of it - e.g. Stafford is more useful to us than a late 2nd rounder, who will probably never make the NHL, until we are cap strapped

I don't know if you can see it, but here is some of the game http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/olympics/19073935

Remember when waiving Tim Kennedy was the big Sabres news?
Trettioåtta replied to SDS's topic in Archive
Why was he bought out? He only got like $1 million and put up nearly 30 points -
Colorado is playing Calgary later - that should be a good game. I imagine it would be similar to that badminton game at the Olympics...

With carolina's demise and our win streak, I don't think there is anything left to do but morn the loss of a top 5 pick and hope for the playoffs? Honestly the ###### the Sabres have put us through this year you would think they could at least lose when it matters. They had 35 games to get us in a playoff position, but decided to not even try in most games. They caused Ruff to get fired. They caused Pominville, Regehr and Leopold to be traded. And now they cause us to make an effort to get to 12th (a.k.a. the Sabres reserved drafting spot)
