I don't think Grigo was lazy last year and showed no effort. I think he was out of his depth, the game was too fast for him and rather than charge in and put himself out of position because he didn't read the play quick enough he would hang back instead. This is a better sign in my opinion because although it might seem like he is lazy it also shows that he is defensively aware

I think it is like last year's draft - i.e. overshadowed by this years. Having said that, this year was meant to be deep, 2015 is meant to have McDavid, but i've never heard of anyone else. 2003 - Deep 2005 - Crosby but little else 2013 - Deep 2015 - Future Crosby but little else?

In the last 3 years, we have drafted 4 wingers (all RW)
-
I change my mind. This draft was a success We got a friend for Armia, we got a friend for Grigo and we got a friend for Myers
-
I'm inferring that from the fact he played in the NHL for 13 games, did ok, go sent back to the AHL and went on a downhill slope to AHL goalie backup
-
I don't really see him as a top tier player anymore - he has only hit 70 points once in the last 5 years and is pretty porous defensively. Also, this is only happening because of the buyout amnesty.

There were lots of dominos before the draft, there were lots of dominos during the draft (unprecedented availability of players and talks), there are still lots of dominos. I think these dominos might stay where they are. The NHL needs to do something about FA, every year it becomes worse. The only team that actively releases its star players into it are the Sabres

Luke Adam didn't like playing in the AHL either
-
Honestly, it wouldn't shock me (and after recent events i now expect) Miller and Vanek to be here for next season, without signing extensions. We will trade Vanek/them at the deadline
-
I put Mcbain down as 25 because he was born in '87, but if we go by the age of his arteries it is probably closer to 35, so that pulls the average up...
-
Myers (23) - Ehrhoff (31) Pysyk (21) - Weber (25) McBain (25) - Ruhwedel (23) McNabb (22) - Ristolainen (18) Average age of defence core: 23.5

Enroth is not a prospect, but no he isn't that promising. I see him as an alright NHL starter at best. If we trade Miller I think we will really see Enroth's inconsistency - some games he will be very good, others he will simply cost them the game. Hackett 2 years ago would have got be excited. He was traded because he became an AHL back-up goalie because his game had gone to ###### ever since he had his first stint in the NHL. If Miller isn't traded, which he probably won't be now, Hackett is back to being an AHL back-up goalie for the season Makarov is the most promising prospect we have, i almost excluded him from my generalisation, but he is still nowhere near as sure a thing as Fucale. Scouts said they have never seen a guy his age dominate the crease like he does. For a team that for 20+ years has built from the net out we are now in a situation where there is nothing in front of us. No replacement Now people will say well it hasn't worked so far. Well that is true. However, we have two scoring prospects, Armia and Grigorenko. That is it. Our cupboard is bare. Sekera was our second best defenceman and we traded him for an out of shape place holder and this guy. We then chose not to address a position of future need with someone who probably will be a superstar, but instead took another centre. In 3 years we are going to have centres playing every position on this team. Talk about over compensating. As for why he wasn't chosen, goalies are risky. This was a deep draft, you don't want to waste a pick in a deep draft on a dodgy position. We had 5 picks int he top 52, we could have afforded to take a risk I think Sabres' fans are the only people excited about him. We refuse to take a goalie before the 4th round because we think we can just get lucky again. The teams with good young goalies (Boston, Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Florida - which division are they playing in for the foreseeable future?) all took them early

"Suffering"
-
A team that has literally no really promising goalies, i just can't understand the logic of passing up Fucale. The only thing i can think is that we thought we could get him at 38 and got burnt
-
McBain is a defenseman. We traded Sekera for this guy and McBain
-
This guy best become something because it cost us a future all-star goalie. We must think this guy is pretty sensational. The good news is now 1/3 of our defence have a history of turning up to the start of the season out of shape. Myers now has a friend to go to dunkin' donuts with
-
What are the odds the trade caller dies before the end of the fourth round?
-
What about Fucale at 38th?
-
Studies show depressed people are more realistic :( Marvin wins this round. He also won the "where will Sabres finish?" round. 2-0
-
Move up and get Erne, Let's try and salvage this Fucale might not make the top 30
-
Is this inside info or WGR?
-
Montreal will take Erne
-
Jay Feaster's team likes to pick random people - like when they took Jankowski last eyar
-
Erne said he would like to play for Buffalo with Grigo
-
Welcome Miller and Vanek. Welcome. They were probably two of the best players available today, so i'm glad our gm went out and got them Erne or Fucale it will be
