2014 Unrestricted Free Agency - Sabres Strategy
Trettioåtta replied to IKnowPhysics's topic in The Aud Club
He's probably sick of Chicago's night life and girls by now. TBH I don't think it will be just him. I expect Buffalo to get a large influx of mid-twenty year olds in 2015. Rumours are flying around Buffalo, not New York, LA or Chicago, is the place to be in America -
2014 Unrestricted Free Agency - Sabres Strategy
Trettioåtta replied to IKnowPhysics's topic in The Aud Club
You spend a lot of time on the road. Party in those cities, settle down in Buffalo. Best of both worlds. Plus it's cheap -
This team has too many early 20s players. If we are going to compete it si vital we bring in more teenagers
-
Probably knows we aren't in a position to be interested. We have made it clear what we intend to do. Why waste a slot? I think we are the only team who is so openly tanking - florida and edmonton just suck every year, but it isn't through lack of trying
-
Payment for No-goal?
-
Lots of players do well before Buffalo. Suck here. Then sign a cheap 1 year deal and do ok e.g. Boyes I wouldn't be shocked if the same thing happened again. His agent will blame Buffalo for everything
-
Edmonton as well? 9/10

Honestly, I think Buffalo's biggest problems are not its city. Why would a free agent want to sign with a club that is not competing or with a club that won't commit assets to win when it is competing? I agree this would be good for it though - at the very least wouldn't hurt. However, prospects have no choice on where they go (plus we have 7 years to change their first impression). Free agents generally go for the money or at a slight discount for a cup-chance. Neither of which we have really supplied in years- 254 replies

The upcoming season is the last season Alexi Yashin will be paid by the Islanders - his contract will end 8 years after he left the league
-
Nope. I'm right with you. Or at least not far behind :P It's just a case of grass is greener. Zad or Risto haven't had to carry a team at the pro level yet, so no-one can see flaws Hell, most people prefer Zad over Risto, despite most scouts thinking Risto is a league or two above Zads

In my mind the owner is the owner. It is his toy. If wants to screw it up, it is his right. If I was an owner I would sure as hell want to feel I was having an input - e.g. what do you think about signing this player, would they fit in? There is no way in hell i would spend $50 million dollars a year (i.e. net loss of $50 million), just to get a slightly better seat in the arena or shake a few more players hands. Although I wouldn't like it, if the owner did order a GM to sign/trade a player I couldn't complain. He is the one paying these guys. If I don't like the team/attitude I won't pay for stuff - if enough people do it then I'm sure empty arenas and bank accounts is a quick way to get an owner to change their strategy Anything involving money, be it player salaries, gym equipment repair or hot dog prices is a business decision. It may also be a hockey decision - the two aren't mutually exclusive.- 254 replies

Glad the Swiss won in the end. The disallowed goal was a good goal. Awesome tackle to save the game followed by a quick counter to win
-
Perfect result for England. Good work Costa Rica

That was pretty

It was a good call. The Spanish player might have slightly provoked the call, but it was a foul

2010 World Cup final rematch time Football just isn't hockey. I really want to like it more but it just lacks the pace of hockey. Plus sometimes it's nice to watch someone use power to muscle passed an opponent - this just can't happen in football

2014 Stanley Cup Finals - NY Rangers vs. LA Kings
Trettioåtta replied to X. Benedict's topic in The Aud Club
Agreed. Kopitar was a monster in the first two rounds but has been much quieter in the two finals. I think Doughty will get it. In 2010 Toews got a gold medal, olympic MVP, Conn Smyth and Stanley cup. I believe if Doughty has the chance to match that -
Reach the floor and get a higher pick. Perfect. Could we do 39 for 20 and Havlat? Side note: I have just realised Phoenix is now Arizona

NHL to Implement Coaches Challenge Replay System
Trettioåtta replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Aud Club
I'd make it 10 seconds. How often does one team even keep the puck in the opponents zone for 30 seconds? -
The cap will probably be $100 by then anyway. However, he would be retiring at mid-late 30s. That is fine, it isn't like he is signed until he is 45

Might also have something to do with facing the top two teams in scoring rather than the 18th and 21st. Who would have thought Carter was more likely to survive/would do better in LA than Richards? Weird. -
I guessed all five players before i even open the article. It's always the same players. Stewart should be on the list, but he isn't a whipping boy yet, so doesn't make the cut

I imagine it won't? Can't you just delay Ramadan if you have a good reason? I thought the London Olympics were over ramadan too and the British athletes just delayed it by a month

Reinhart at two is better than Bennet at three, but not better than Bennet at four? You have a weird evaluation criteria
