  1. The guys in the locker room already know he isn't 100%. He is their team mate... The press knowing makes no difference
  2. I don't think the Jets had a bad playoff, games 1-3 were pretty close. The Ducks were just a whole lot better - not surprising given they dominated in the regular season and are arguably built for the playoffs
  3. Miller, Lack, Markstrom. Guess he doesn't want to play in the NHL Lundqvist, Talbot Anderson, Hamburgler, Lehner
  4. Plus he can have bonuses that take him up to like $3.5 a year. We could set those bonuses reasonably low ;)
  5. He already said he understood what Murray meant and then went on to say he has a lot of skills to offer as well
  6. That whistle was too quick in the Preds game
  7. Time to add "Evander Kane will be fine."?
  8. 96 for Eichel 97 for McDavid That would be quite good actually
  9. Honestly, this is just hear-say. That said, I have seen it on a variety of independent websites. So it might be completely bogus, or maybe it is a truth that has been spread by word of mouth. Should be taken with a grain of salt (hence the use of allegedly/apparently) Difference between someone who is a dunce and someone who focuses on playing hockey so doesn't get the work done.
  10. Neither of those things will happen... Reinhart out performed McDavid at the World Juniors. If you think McDavid - the greatest prospect since Crosby - needs time in a lower league before he can play in the NHL you have an incredibly warped understanding of hockey. Therefore, why a player who is further along in his development would need it is also hard to explain. Note - I said Reinhart is further along in his development, not that he is the better talent. Eichel is apparently on a GPA below 1 and on academic probation. There is a real chance he basically isn't allowed back. He also has nothing to prove there. He was voted the best player in the NCAA...what else is there for him to achieve? It would have been nice if he won the cup, but plenty of prospects miss out on the memorial cup - they don't consider skipping the NHL for a year to have one more shot at it. Honestly, this mentality some of you guys have is ludicrous
  11. Let's hope he picks number 69, so you can roll with it
  12. Sadly I can't find the source, but unconfirmed reports suggest Terry Pegula is actually a 7ft lizard alien bent on destroying West New York's hockey teams
  13. I'm intrigued how Fluery will play. He had a decent playoffs last year, but has historically performed awfully
  14. As Sabres fans, we should be rooting for the Blues to win the cup - giving the Jets the 30th pick. Similarly, we want the Islanders knocked out in the first or second round and having the last four made up of Ottawa, Detroit, Minnesota, Calgary, Pittsburgh or Winnipeg. If everything went our way we would draft 1st, 17th and give the 30th pick to the Jets - this is our best case scenario
  15. I'm in (under the name Oli-V). I usually fair poorly in these things, but they're fun
  16. Hammond's run is incredibly lucky. It won't last. He was a .900 AHL goalie for a reason
  17. I would like the Sabres to get the rights to Burmistrov and sign him
  18. Apparently Eichel's GPA is 0.7
  19. A lot of newer members here seem to be related to the Nolan family... Teddy is a good man and motivator He is not a good X and O coach - our team is too young not to have this. It's one thing telling a vet to go out there and try, it is another thing to tell someone who has no idea what that means Murray and Nolan didn't have a good working relationship - that's on both of them, but at the same time, doesn't matter because sometimes people just don't click Richardson or Babcock
  20. Plenty of 18 year olds come from playing teenagers to playing adults for the whole season. He is in a better position than any of them, having played against 'men'
  21. We didn't trade our best player for no return. We didn't start a goalie who has another job and is a part time hockey player We didn't trade our key players because they were 'too productive' We didn't guarantee we get McDavid Also, we signed some big name free agents...they just didn't work out well The way our team played, Nolan clearly wasn't in on the Tank - e.g. player selection for the PK/PP Secondly, on another level. Why is it wrong to Tank? You should play the system to the best of your ability. Both in game and out. I don't see how this isn't dissimilar to having a player take a player out of th play without getting an interference call. If the NHL doesn't want teams who are miles from the playoffs turning their attention to the draft then they should make the lottery completely even. Alternatively, there was a proposal that once eliminated from the playoffs, it was the team that won the most points that drafts first - basically giving bad teams a head start, but still rewarding winning
  22. Chicago wins the cup Toronto drafts McDavid 1st overall Sabres draft Eichel 2nd overall Everyone calls shenanigans that McDavid goes to Toronto Sabres trade for ROR The return for the trade is Ennis and Larsson Sabres sign Lindback Sabres do not resign Strachen or Benoit or Mezaros Sabres sign Paul Martin Sabres sign a veteran 4th line centre - someone like Santorelli Nolan is fired Kane - Reinhart - ROR Moulson - Grigo - Coho Girgensons - Eichel - Gionta Edit 13/4 - Pysyk makes the club next year
  23. No. Even if he did stay another year, which I highly doubt - $9 million over 3 years is hard to say no to - the gap between him and the next guy is worth waiting a year
  24. I hope it is Arizona, if not us. I'd be ok with Columbus, as they ensured we get Eichel. New Jersey would be acceptable. No to Boston/LA/Pittsburgh/San Jose
