Lacklustre effort
-
I’ve been really impressed with Dahlin. First time I’ve seen him play and he has made some really nice decisions. a couple of rookie errors too, but he will learn
-
This is Eichels first game as captain and he has been the most invisible player on the ice
-
Is it me, or does it always feel like the Sabres are on a line change in the offensive zone? we seem to never have the bodies there to control possession. Just two guys battling and no one else in shot
-
Don’t worry guys, this team will be much better when we dress Eichel
-
Very familiar period. We get into their zone - knock it around the perimeter until we either get knocked off the puck or we take a point shot that goes wide and they clear it
-
I feel they’re playing better the longer the game has gone on

Ullmark, as Sabres fans might learn, has an upbeat personality and always seems to be smiling. He likes to wear colorful masks with characters painted on. He recently ditched his Bowser Nintendo mask for a blue and gold Sabres one with the Minions from the movie “Despicable Me.” “A lot of my friends and family, they just love the Minions,” Ullmark said. “Whenever you talk to them, everybody loves (them). We thought it would be great to have on the mask.”

So is there any truth in this? (I got bored reading the argument about jerseys)

Who is the next problem in the Sabres locker room? We got rid of Kane, and now ROR. Who is next on the list? Maybe Reinhart? -

When he scores more than a PPG and plays more than 70 games and actually earns his contract, then I will pity Eichel -

Talking of $ over winning. This is our 60 point centre's first season as as one of the top 5 most highly paid players. Let's hope he can finish within the top 50 this time! -

I really don't like that we are now penciling in a guy with 6 NHL games to be our 2C and a stud for us. It might be true and everything works out and he becomes the first Sabre in a long time to put up 70 points, and when Eichel is injured for 20+ games again he steps up to the 1C... But it feels like nothing has changed in 5 years. We are rushing our prospects into positions to fail in. Vanek played on the third line his rookie season and it worked very very well -

What about the one who doesn't float for 100 of the 200 foot rink? How many more points has Eichel put up than ROR in their time together? -
So who is the consensus number 2 next year?

So we trade a 1C for two 3rd liners in their 30s, a low first, low second and a B grade prospect. Pominville, Moulson, 1st, 2nd and Pu for McDavid? Man I despise this return. I hope Armstrong at least used lube. Well Eichel, this is your team now. Let's see if you have any desire to play defense, as you now have no help for those tough minutes. JBot... you are on the clock. This is your team now, and you only have a 18.5% shot at Hughes. For once can we get a GM who doesn't just throw away our assets for free? Who would have thought the best GM by a country mile in the last decade as Regier -
They were announced at the same time, so I was commenting on the comparison of what the two franchises achieved today
-
Neal will almost certainly get a Kane/JVR type deal Enstrom is heading back to Europe I thought? Maroon I would like DeHaan would be nice, but I am less concerned with defense
-
I thought Maroon signed with Calgary? I wouldn't mind taking him for a 3 x 2.5 deal
-
I am not as worried about our defense, we have a lot of pieces and hopefully someone will decide they want to make a career in the NHL (and Bogo will decide to not injure himself whilst inhaling) Our wingers is my concern, especially LW - we basically have a 3rd line LW and three fourth line LWs and no 1st or 2nd LW.

There is very little left on the table. It wasn't exactly a feast of a UFA pool, and right now there are the scraps left. Maybe we can poach RFAs?
