I wanted us to move up and draft Kane, i hope this is true

Hasek's style is about flexibility and reflexes, both of which drop pretty quickly as you get older. Broduer plays a positional game more than anything, so it is easier to play as he gets older

Read 'Dark Matter' - decent ghost story Now reading 'The Third Man Factor' - so far very interesting

No-one's rights are worth that much. Parise's rights will go for like a 3rd which will be upgraded to a 2nd if he signs. They are not gonna be traded for Malkin and Crosby

I apologise on True Blue's behalf, he was ignorant and foolish for backing up his argument with facts and stats when we were simply dealing with hunches and guesses in this conversation. In other news, i have a stick that tells me where i can find bodies of water....i am pretty impressed with it

I dunno, Brown is leading his playoff team in points, has 4 short handed points, has made a few big checks, has been an unquestioned captain and his team is destroying the top teams in the playoffs. To me, that means they won't want to trade him, thus he will need an incentive.

I think that saying you ahve had to spend time on a players issues implies that they are a problem player, which Roberts is saying is not the CoHo he knows, and whilst true he does only know him away from the team, he also knows him as a person - i doubt Miller is laid back and the life and soul of a party simple because it is the offseason, same is true with Coho and his attitude. He has not replied to the comments because if he disagrees with Gillis, which his high road comment would suggest he does, then all that happens is that it descends into name calling and insults

I have to agree with this, it seems Buffalo fans are a very pessimistic munch. I am happy with the way this team is generally going, disappointed with where they are atm and excited for the draft/FA and most importantly next season. As for Coho, i don't think there is anything wrong with asking for more ice time if you have earnt it. I can understand why is was apprehensive about his playing time. I would rather go to a middle of the road franchise and play a big role in its quest for the cup than play 6 minutes on the top team. Four years is a long time to not get a shot at a top 6 pairing. I also wonder about requesting trades, is it a bit like college confirmations that you can heavily hint that you want one, but coming out and requesting one is pretty much definitive? Anyway, i hope Coho is here for a long time and the reaction the van fans have to him should be taken seriously, just as we rag on Roy for being lazy and presuming he does nothing but party and drink etc. i am sure they do the same about their players - the only difference is that in this case, they like him :P

Our team under performed. Literally everyone did (bar Pominville and Ennis and Foligno, if he counts). I hope Regier knows what to do, as i am not too sure what went wrong, maybe it was the new player lack of chemistry combined with a load of injuries to different players, so the lines had to keep being muddled. I don't really know. As for Roy's contract, it really isn't that bad. He has proven he is can get to 80 points, this season he was bad, but maybe he was out of shape from missing 6 months last year? It is harder to attain fitness than it is to lose or maintain it. I think for those people who say i'd trade him for a hobo's left shoe, then they are poor businessmen. It is quite simple, if you have an asset, you use the asset. You do not throw it away. Most people sell their old cars when they get a new one, the old one is probably a bit ######, but you still don't just burn it do you?

I think that we want to be careful of making huge changes. I think one or two changes upfront (one of which should be Brown :D). I would also like Goose back personally.
-
The Hobbit is good, LOTR is not - it is so so so boring in parts and they break into song for no ###### reason all the damn time
-
Detroit fans seem pretty pissed at Franzen, i wouldn't mind taking him off their hands - although he is signed for like a million years
-
I really really really want Brown. Please make it happen DR :)
-
I think Suter is in for a big pay day, that will let the team who signs him down - i think he has probably benefitted a lot from pairing with Weber
-
I really want Helm. Like a lot. I would trade a 2nd and a mehish prospect for him in a heart beat. I doubt detroit lets him go though :(
-
Do we know that for sure? As i said above, i presume we are not. But the exact person is irrelevant. The idea is more that Roy could be used for furthering this team now, rather than just to possibly help for the future. Afterall, the draft is still luck-based

Fire sale? Why would we fire sell? This team did undergo substantial changes in the offseason, in comparison to previous seasons. I personally do not want a team like the oilers, who have sucked for about 7 seasons (bar the one flukey playoff run) and still finish almost last. You get a first for Goose, why do you trade roy for a first? Big trades do no happen on deadline day. We have 4 top 60 picks, why trade Roy for another one, when you could package him and get Nash (for example, although i doubt we are on his allow list)? You should always try to win, tanking is illegal, i would personally hate this core more, if they decided they would just roll over, they showed fire and fought back, and yes it came up short - but they hardly gave themselves wiggle room. Quite frankly i trust Darcy in the GM position more than i trust any of you. Most of you seem to have the Burke idea of GM, or making huge flashy trades and getting no where. It appears to me that we are modelling ourselves over Detroit i.e. an organisation in not the nicest city (sorry, it is true) with a committed fan base and management/trainers/facilities that players want to play for. I would also point out, that we have no idea what goes on in the lockeroom. Roy might get more ice time because the team sees him as a leader, or it might be because Lindy likes him. Likewise, Vanek might get less ice time because of an entitled atittude or soemthing. Who knows. Ultimately, i don't know who i would prefer at GM, probably no-one Regier has had a long time to produce a winning team, yes. He has also had a long time to trash this team accidentally, which has not happened either. He proved at the deadline he is willing to make bold moves. Everyone laughed when he said that having Foligno in the wings made Kassian more tradeable, then look what happened. What do people expect from their GM? What would you want him to do differently? Roy has an 80 point scorer and a point per game scorer not long ago. You trade him for a first on a down year and i can guarantee we bitch about the trade next year
-
Ennis will be one of the centres, Roy another and Coho - with McCormick as the 4th line centre (or maybe Boyes) As for next season, who knows! I like the lines atm, as they have a centre, a scorer and a grinder - classic set-up

Myers is 21....are people aware how young that is? He just needs to mature, being a defenceman takes longer to learn than being a forward, i would predict him to have a bigger year next year and in his 5th year have a big big leap. I can't decide if Karlsson should win the Norris. I agree there are better all round players (in an ideal world i want Lidstrom to the cup, the norris and retire on top). However, he leads the defenceman by over 20 points, that is a big big big margin. I also think it might be a career year and he will settle down to being a 50-60 point dman over his career.
-
His defense has got a lot better, but it is still not amazing
-
Haha i've been studying Marfan syndrome, so that one gave me a chuckle
-
Stafford has had 3 or 4 good scoring chances created by Coho last few games. I agree Kassian was more noticeable than Coho, but i think Coho played the better game

You know you can support the Bruins? There is no need for you to support the Sabres, no doubt they would be devastated, but i feel they would limp on. The Sabres were always going to have a dodgy few years after you lose your two top players, we still made the playoffs twice! Kassian may have had off ice issues, beating a guy up in a pub is not the sign of a tough hockey player, it is the sign of an unhinged thug, perhaps he has off ice issues? Kassian is not the next coming, he is just a hockey prospect, he is not someone you build a club around, he is a component. The bruins need Krejci, Chara and Bergeron more than him. Just like we need Coho (a young talented centre) more than we need Kassian. As for development, i am not sure he is better of in Vancouver, he is playing on the 4th line, so all he is doing is developing his hitting ability, he has skill he should be developing that so when he cracks the NHL full time he can play on a top line and make a difference. 4th line hitters are a dime a dozen.
-
You don't know they didn't try and get Getzlaf out of the duck? It could just be the ducks wanted Vanek, Armia and Kassian (look i can speculate as well) Iginla was never going anywhere, nor should he unless he asks for a trade
-
Are you aware how you are twisting things? So Paille, who is a 4th line player, but who played on the 2nd and 3rd lines whilst with us, managed to get out of the system and has broken out into a good player? Macarthur i will agree has become a decent player. But one guy does not mean anything. Lindy's system didn't work for him, that doesn't mean it doesn't work. The other players who were established when they came to Buffalo and had their best season's here proves that Lindy is a bad coach, might need some help understanding that logic? Briere has not been as good. Not to mention he plays on the second line, against players who are not as good compared to who he played against when here. You forget all the other players i mentioned and pick on Lydman (who btw plays on the 3rd pairing)
