Dahlin is looking much better this game

I'm with Tom. I'm confident in a month this post will be long and forgotten (no offence GA). This team is in a fine and tidy place

I think the Sabres will finish in the 2nd or 3rd spot in the division when all is said and done. I have watched all the loses, and have enjoyed the games anyway - this is a team that competes and passes the eye test. We have hit about 7 posts across these few games. That's insanely unlucky. People are losing their mind for no reason - just as I was worried when we started last season winning because I didn't think the team was as good as the standings showed, I am equally not worried about this team this year. Jack and especially Dahlin need to find another level, but we can easily gain some lost ground this year as every game we win takes points from other teams

Ok. I'll watch the Sabres. I haven't seen the Bills play this season, so i'll be sure not to watch in case its me

Against the two teams most likely to go 1-2 in the division after having not played in 10 months. Not to mention we outplayed / stayed with the opposition in all 5 of those games.

The PP needs to be more dynamic. They just stand still and cycle the puck. Perimeter play and waiting for the perfect pass / shot is not inherently bad, but you need people moving to create space. You can't just stand there

I think Dahlin needs more mental resilience. I think one or two bad plays get in his head and he then plays worse for the rest of the game

Cozens impresses me. He still looks green and a little bit gangly and weak. But he is very noticeable in a good way - always in a nice location and never afraid to battle for the puck

This feels like either a shutout or a rout for Ulmark, given his personal life

If players get COVID because they broke the rules, should the game be postponed? Seems like they should have to play taxi squad players, personally

We went 8-2 in our opening ten last year. I'm not sure how you start a season has a ton of bearing on how you finish. I remember a recent champion team was last in the league at one point before winning it all that season.

lol the way people lose their mind - we are two games into a season and in one of those games we dominated but still lost. We could easily be at 1-1, or even 2-0. No need for panic yet. I agree the Skinner stuff is a bit odd. But also remember it is as much building for the future as it is now. Maybe Dahlin and Mountour aren't great together. However, both are playing poorly individually with basic hockey. That will skew the stats. And maybe in 10 games they are a dominant force on the ice, such that for 46 games its worth the 10 of pain

If we end up with the second best defenceman to ever play the game, I don't think we should consider it a consolation prize 😛

Yeah special teams haven't been good - but it is still only 2 games in after 10 months without hockey. I think Ulmark is fine and played a good game and made some nice saves. I do have concerns about Hutton. Let's hope RK/team leadership can keep the finger pointing and bad vibes out and they'll pull together and dig in as a team rather than divide

I've really liked his game so far. Muscled off the puck a bit too easily, but he has a good nose for where to be and has some good moxie to want to try and win battles.
