Weak goal by Miller - but also a perfectly placed shot, so not entirely his fault. Gerbe is just too small for this league -

Career vs Buffalo: 3W-1L, 2.08 gaa and .929 sv% -
Realistically he has a year or two left. And that is ignoring the fact he just took a year off. They could pay a 2nd rounder for one year of mediocre service. Also the Bruins defense is pretty damn good, so I always thought they were a big reason for his sudden explosion into fame (not that he isn't good, just not sure he is elite) Basically I think being in shape is less important for a goalie compared to getting game practice
-
Maybe we should also colour their names - so blue can be always liked (Foligno), red can be always disliked (Stafford) and purple can be swings between the two (Vanek)
-
I really don't care for Ryan - I think he is a good player, but his numbers just don't wow me. His stats are very good, but they aren't elite. Also with Perry and Getzlaf maybe leaving, I think Anaheim hold onto their remaining 'star'

Could we create a table on this website that summarises which players/coaches/front office people we like and which ones we don't want on our team. It would simplify things i feel. From what i can understand: Dislike: Stafford, Hecht, gerbe, Mccormick, Ellis, Myers, Leopold, Miller, Enroth, Lindy, Darcy Like: Vanek, Coho, Pommers, Foligno, the saviour (Grigo), Brennan (for an apparent reason), Ted Black, Terry Pegula

You mean he needs to report to the Islanders? Does it mean if he reports either this season or next season the Bruins get a second?
-
Firstly, the key word is now. Myers is not playing well now. When (not if) he recovers he will be back on track to being elite. He has got better almost every game and this trend will continue - maybe his ankle is still a little weak. He was not as bad as people remember last year, they just want it to be that way so it makes more sense. Also he is our only RHD, so that would be another thing to be careful of losing. Also Regehr, Leopold, Sulzer and Pardy are all UFA at the end of this season and Weber is an RFA. And whoever suggested Phaneuf - speak to a leaf's fan, they would gladly give you him, they just think he is a pilon. The thought of getting Myers for Phaneuf and a few bits would make Leaf fans demand Nonis get put on the canadien dollar

I just see him as a poor man's Vanek. Our defense is pretty thin on talent as it is and I think a rebounded Myers is more useful to the team than Vanek light. Also imagine if we trade Myers and have to play him 6 times a year and he turns into a Norris trophy calibre player (as many analysts say he could do)

Anyone else think that the sabres are intentionally losing?

There is a Hungarian soccer team whose goalie was paid to let 3 goals in and throw the match. Despite this, the team he was playing against (liverpool) only managed to score one goal on him Somehow I think that would happen with the Sabres. We would start fixing the matches to lose and end up storming to the playoffs -
Random proposal. But no i wouldn't. Myers is decent, he is having a bad few weeks, but people are really over reacting. This guy is something special. Yes he will never be Pronger or Chara with his hits, but so what? He can get better at positioning and play a more stick checking game. He needs to know when to take the guy out of the play with a hit though. That is what he is lacking at the moment. The guy is 23 and people want to give up on him. I just don't get why? Kessel has a larger contract that Myers and would leave a fairly large hole on our D

No Matt Cookie, I'm genuinely shocked. He should have Ott's place. I can see why Kaleta is on that list though

Buffalo News: Darcy on possible changes: 'It won't be the coach'

Fire Ruff. Ruff addressed the topic of his job security head-on Wednesday when asked about it by The News after practice in First Niagara Center. “I think you’re always concerned,” he said. “My job is to keep the morale up. The hope for the team has been real good. The guys have been positive. They’ve been upbeat. They dug in, tried to come back” in Tuesday’s 4-3 loss in Ottawa, “tried to fight through the adversity. “So you’ve got to give them credit for digging in but I understand the other side of it too. We need to win games. We need to win them now.” -
I think we probably have the same idea. But for the last week we have had to use all 9 defensemen, so it isn't like people were missing out. Nobody likes having talented/young guys sitting out and wasting away.

When the Caps/Cap broadcasters were calling Var-LA-mov Varla-mov he just told them how to say his name and said you stress the LA part. It isn't surprising people butcher foreign names, all it takes is one comment to correct it

Any news on Sekera or Leino? -
Also Hecht is an adult and if it bothered him he could take Ruff aside and say you're pronouncing my name wrong. People need to remember players are adults, not children, they can voice there opinion very easily and they can chose to play hard or not

Myers has shown improvement over last few games. Having a different partner would be helpful for him, but it is worth people registering he has become a lot better -

I think on a bad Tyler Myers day he is a mediocre defenseman. On a good day he is top 10. His play will get better, and it is encouraging to seem him move in the right direction - his skating was a lot better, as was his play. Once he gets confidence he will be back on form. Also, in this shortened season, players have less time to review their play (i mean mentally, not watching game tape) so really it has only been 2 weeks of bad play - something which is not abnormal
