So a couple quick goals could be very damaging to the canes -
His friends like to call him Mikey. He only goes by Brad for formal events - weddings, graduations and the like

You've got to think Enroth is on his last life. Fairly or unfairly, if he screws the pooch again he might be done for the season/buffalo -

Last time Enroth played Carolina he got light up like a christmas tree - do you play him and hope he uses it as motivation or do you not play him for fear of not learning from the past? -
Almost identical

Klesla got 2 games in 06 Hanzal had no history McDonald had no history Kaleta got 4 games in 11 and 2 games in 09

The rule says contact must be minimised. Contact was minimised. If there can be no contact when a player is 10 feet off the boards and facing them it is ridiculous
-
I guess you are ignoring the minimize contact part?
-
Vanek's too lazy to roll on the ice for 2 minutes
-
Which is exactly why he should pass more to them :P
-
Statistically that just isn't true. He draws more penalties than he takes and is killer on our PK. Girardi shouldn't be suspended, Ennis turns just before hand. But Kaleta shouldn't be suspended either
-
At no point do i suggest i know what he was thinking? Yes the location is dangerous if the player falls down. So it all comes down to how at fault Kaleta was for causing/expecting the player to go down. If Kaleta had ran him through the numbers it would not be a shock that he went down If Kaleta had used all his force to cross check him above the numbers it would not be a shock that he went down Neither of these happened, it was a light push, below the numbers, in the lower back (where the centre of mass is) - so Kaleta wasn't trying (so not expecting) to make him hit the boards. However, it is obviously Kaleta's actions that caused Richards to be gravely wounded for 50 seconds, this is true - that is why it should have been a penalty. However, if there was no intent to injure and the play was not reckless I don't see what there is to suspend
-
Might be worth that specialist having a talk with the equipment manufacturers if that's the case. The contact Kaleta made with Richards was minimal, there is no way it was dangerous - if it is dangerous then Vanek should be getting a medal right about now for services to his country/the USA. I will say it again, Richards was slightly leaning forwards and had all his weight on one skate. He knew Kaleta was behind him, he looked over his shoulder before he turned to face the boards.

And the number of penalties Kaleta draws, they are useful as well -
Richards weight is all on his right skate - his left one is off the ice when Kaleta shoves him, that's what makes it so bad is he goes down instantly rather than stumbling. It also means he is off balance (slightly leaning forwards on one skate). The shove looks reckless to me, and should have been a penalty, but i think it is just a series of stupid/misfortunate events
-
Ennis turns his body just before the hit. A better comparison is the hit a carolina player put on Gerbe - which was a 2 minute penalty

A major difference is the location of the push - Kaleta's was below the numbers -

I don't think people are suggesting he dove against the boards. He hit the boards because a) kaleta gave him a push b) Kaleta pushed him at a dangerous location c) He was on one skate leaning forwards - unbalanced However, once he hit the ice I think it was partly acting. He was writhing in pain, but playing 2 minutes later and played the rest of the game. Players who hit the boards with their heads normally just drop, they don't lie on their backs and waggle their arms and screw up their face like a distressed tortoise -

Reminds me of Malkin's injury The shove happens just after picture 3 - that leg placement is not due to the shove -

Watch Patches hit on Mcdonagh - that wasn't a suspension. Then when there is a highlight watch Kaleta's shove. It is night and day. Richards was an idiot for putting himself hunched over, which meant when Kaleta shoved him he lost his balance and slid into the baords. He then rolled around in pain but managed to recover in 2 minutes to be back on the PP -

Have you rewatched the hit? He barely touches him. Honestly, I was looking out for it (as i missed the game) when i watched that powerplay and i literally thought i missed it - he didn't pile drive him into the boards he just slightly cross checked him. Richards did a good job selling it as well -

Miissed the game, but watched some of it afterwards a couple of comments: a) we are 1/22 on the PP under RR b) Weak call on kaleta, very very weak, he nudged Richards, who fell awkwardly and hit the boards, 2 minutes would have been a stretch imo
