  1. I wonder what has made him suck this season/welcome the mood. Clearly Buffalo is not a hockey heaven, but I wonder why. Ruff is no longer here to rape/ruin/torture the players (or whatever crime it was he did to them daily), Pegula seems like the best owner ever and does DR really have that much to do with the players daily lives?
  2. The picks are an insurance policy incase he doesn't want to sign. Also Pommers has a no move clause and a limited NTC. Unless he wants to go, he doesn't go
  3. Pommers and his Mum were the best!
  4. To an extent yeah, my/our perception is off. However, for example, Stafford is currently playing awfully offensively. His shooting percentage is 3.3%, but is he (or anyone) actually that lacking in offensive ability or is something just off/wrong? On paper he should be a 50 point 8ish% scorer, currently he is not - but i don't think it is because over the last 7 months he has just turned into a ###### player - i just don't know why it is Maybe the shortened season played a bigger role in the weird standings than expected (Rags, Devs and Flyers all fighting for the playoffs whilst the Habs sit atop the East etc.)
  5. On paper, this team isn't half bad. If Foligno played like he did last season/this season in the AHL (instead of dangling every 2 seconds) and Stafford remembered he was a hockey player we would have a decent (but not ideal) top 6: Vanek - Coho - Pommers Foligno - Ennis - Stafford Then we have a but of an unusual third line that is not your typical shutdown but instead a lovely combination of grit, skill and possession: Ott - Grigo - Leino Our 4th line is then a bit of a utility line - which could be what made this team great! We could have tailored it to our opponents strengths Scott - Mccormick - Kaleta = Grit line Hecht - Porter - Kaleta = Defensive line Gerbe also exists, but I really struggle to work out how he fits into a team. I like him as a person. But he is not skilled enough to make up for his size - he gets hemmed in our zone a lot and is too small to really muscle for the puck on a consistent basis On defence I think we have in theory a really nice line-up: Myers - Ehrhoff should be your number 1/2 D men (even if they don't play of the same line Sekera - Regehr = here you have a defensive but not physical young number 3 d-man, and a gritty leader vet who has lost a step to become a number 4 Weber - Leo = Gritty young number 5/6 and a decent 2 way player who rounds out the top 6 Then in the wings we have Brennan (youngish chip on shoulder prospect), Pardy (gritty number 6), Sulzer (decent number 7) Our issues our weird. We have the pieces but they don;t fit
  6. Pommers was trying to control the play on the second goal - he yells for someone to cover the guy who eventually scores then he plays the guy with the puck. 2 other Sabres failed to break up the pass or take the other guy. I don't blame Pommers for thY
  7. I think this team is just tired of playing under Rolston. It looks like his message is just not getting through anymore. He has been here for too long and this team has quit on him
  8. They lose the puck and they get ready to receive - classic
  9. Edmonton is ominously positioned to win the lottery and snag their next top prospect. I really don't understand why they are so bad - it must be lack of veteran presence or something
  10. I believe the whole of a signing bonus counts on the cap - the point of it was to make the actual salary more even across the years - and it also makes the player more tradable e.g. Shea Weber gets $26 million of his contract in 366 days, then the remaining 80 odd over the next 13 years
  11. Kaleta - I like to wind people up and can relate to his desire to have weird projects Vanek - Have skills to do things, but find it very hard to get motivation (lazy)
  12. Hecht always hits the goalies logo when he shoots from in front of the net. That time there would have been no logo to stop the shot He gave up a huge rebound on an easy shot. The net was wide open, even if a defenceman was on the NJD player, it would have still been an easy goal - just need to throw the puck on the net

  15. This has to be the best ###### you the team has ever given Miller. The skaters played like ###### all game and Enroth bailed them out. Enroth then lets in a very weak late goal and leaves. Miller steps in and they lose in the SO. He was literally the only player who didn't do anything wrong in regulation or OT
  16. At the same time you don't want to look like you are just giving in - we need to resign star players and attract FAs. But yeah, I would have liked to give him a shift in the third. And it would be nice if 60% of the time his shift wasn't with Scott
  17. He got 3-4 minutes more ice time under Ruff. But yeah both coaches do it - understandable as well. Why did we dress Scott over Hecht???? If we are going to play defensive hockey why do we sit our best defensive forward?
  18. They have the horses to play a better two way game. Our D now pinch a lot less often, that alone should be enough to make us more responsible. I just don't think this is a trapping team - they don't have the horses for that style either
  19. I thought Myers had a fine game. What is hurting them is their style of play. We trap to stop them get into the zone then we struggle to get it out. There is no offence. We are literally waiting to see which comes first, the buzzer or a goal
  20. Enroth played a damn fine game - but his rebounds were sloppy. We are on track for a 40 point season (69 point normal season). I really hope we make some big moves at the deadline RR is not the right coach - i had getting a one goal lead and trapping. He has 1 regulation win in 8 (maybe 9) games
  21. Surely this cuts out chances hugely - we can are still about 7 points out with even less games to go
  22. Yes he is? That rule isnt in the NHL
  23. I'm presuming you are just parodying other forum members?
  24. That looks like a bad injury
