  1. He is their future goalie. He is 23 and 6'6', he will be really really good. ATM he is a bit inconsistent game-to-game
  2. Urgh Myers is a basket case tonight. I really hope he sorts his life out before next season
  3. Then watch as no FA signs here and all our stars demand trades. Shockingly players don't like an organisation purposefully not try to win.
  4. Hrmmm awkward head first fall into the boards. Exactly where was Kaleta at 9:30pm last night? I heard about this fall but because of stupid blackout rules i couldnt see the game so missed this wonderful moment
  5. Trading Snieds would give them $8 million (compared to $9.3 with lou) to play with, that would be enough to be able to make another move without being bent over a barrel. Also you can go 10% over the cap in the offseason Sedin, Sedin, Booth, Burrows, Kesler gives them 5/top 6. Bottom 6 players can be had fairly cheaply and I presume they ahve some prospect who is about reading to fill in
  6. Yes he has played really well. I'm hoping he signs a 3/4 year extension at this point, and that means Ott signs a 2/3 year extension next year. These guys are good ones to have on your team. I'm intrigued what has made him play so well this year, i hope it is more than just a contract
  7. True. But also, all their problems could be solved if they just traded one of their goalies away
  8. Ray Shero is a good GM, but don't underestimate the power of having the two best players on your roster, not to mention the fact this also helps them get trades (i.e. Crosby is probably a huge reason Iggy chose them)
  9. Booth would be the one they would love to trade. Ballard would be a close second. Surprisingly, Kesler would probably be third
  10. Grigo had 10 points in 11 games last year. This year he has 10 points in 4 games
  11. Are teams gonna be put off spending too much at the deadline now Pens and Bruins are so fortified?
  12. Feaster made a cracking trade there. Time for Iginla to have a shot at the cup and resign with Calgary in the offseason
  13. Out of curiosity...without wanting to be a dick...do people know what the phrase fire sale means?
  14. Burying 6M in cap space is a bitch
  15. Yes, that would be my guess as to an overall plan if this were true. Still could be/probably is nothing
  16. If this is true, major moves must be in the works - we would need a goalie back, and they don't have one
  17. It is not what they would be traded for, it is what they're worth is. Picks act as a currency to assign to each player, which makes them more comparable
  18. Iginla could keep signing one year contracts with Calgary, then get traded at the deadline to a contendor. This hugely helps calgary and also mean Iginla will go to a top 4 team each year, rather than trying to pick a team and hope. Plus if by some miracle Calgary goes on a run in the next 2-3 years he would be a part of it Plus it means his family wouldn't have to move
  19. So we can pick him up in FA. No point trading 1st, Grigo and McCabe for him
  20. Black Sunday #neverforget
  21. Did anyone else watch the interview with the new Tampa prospect who is 6'8' and said he would want to emulate Myers because he is tall, uses his stick well and skates very well for a tall guy
  22. We were griping on Pommers/Vanek/Miller being too old for this team. Yet we want to trade for a centre who will be 34 this summer? Also we barely have any right wings as it is. If anyone is traded it will be one of Ennis or Vanek
  23. Okay I see what you are saying. I really don't agree with it because I think Hecht is the type of role player championship teams have - veteran defensive presence who can calm a game down. But you are saying people don't dislike Hecht's role on the team, they resent the team is bad enough to require that role and they would rather have another energy player than a defensive shut-down guy. But I have never been on board with random symbolistic hatred of players Again you misunderstand. His very game is that it isn't intense, it is there to calm the game down. Hecht is the team's weed to Ott/Kaleta's X Also unless you have sat between periods in the lockeroom or on the bench during a game I care very little about your opinion on who is a good leader
