What is the equivalent low to a Stanley Cup high?
I am Defecting replied to Stoner's topic in The Aud Club
I remember in the spring of 2006, from Petrograd, getting on the internet, and hearing about nothing but the Sabres. It was Sabre mania in 2006. In 2007 it was overblown. It seemed, from Petrograd, that everybody was rooting for the Sabres. Now, nobody is rooting for the Sabres If you search it out, there is this mini-mania about Sabres finishing last. Whether these are remnants of fans from the past, or what, I do not know. My friends in Petrograd tell me there is no buzz whatsoever about Sabres. Here in Buffalo, last year, it was novel. This year it is annoying. It is like spoiled child who must get Reebok Pumps for Christmas or will kill herself, even if it bankrupts her poor Soviet parents in Russia who must stand in line for bread, who gets Reebok Pumps, and next year must get Nike Air Force David Robinson shoe or will kill herself, even though her parents have gone through bankrupcy proceding and she has been given up for adoption, and is living in an orphanage. -
So our sacrifice is beneficial and not self-serving - what a novel idea!

30 pushups. Not bad for a girl, eh, Putski? How many sit ups should Anna do?

It didn't feel like that when Obama was elected. It was not for him. It was for us. Now, we should not believe the words that make us seem stupido. Lots of folks get paid to speak the Untruth. That doesn't make us Stupido at all. It makes us more smart.

Isn't it a sign of the hard times that I've highlighted your post, by quoting it, for its hardness, and obliqueness. You are set in your losing ways, Robviously. You've carved out a definite niche. In the future, when we really want to lose, we will turn to your obvious expertise.

I use my personal e-mail for work, when I want it to work properly. It seems any thing the non-profit does is plagued with unsurmountable economic problems. That includes the Gov't of the United States of America. I've been so pissed of at my tech guys, and so convinced of their ineptitude, that I've refused to speak to them, but Gmail works ok, but I'm doing some sort of crime, being actually able to send e-mails. This is now a story, Republicans. You have nothing to gain by, so-called, digging into this. It's Benghazi x2. Then again, go kill yourselves.

If I only had hockey stick, I would give you affectionate tap on your buttocks.

Yuri and I, are like corned beef and cabbage. Me, Yuri, Gogol (that rascal), and Zhitnik, are part of an Ukranian expat community named, Friends of the Poles, here in Buffalo Dominik Hasek is practically a member. You see how he held the sword from Pegula? He held it by the blade to show that it was a useless sword, not even sharpened, good for nothing. You see, they didn't trust Dominik to wield a sharpened blade, because he is for winning, and may have used that sword towards said purpose.

I have left my oppressor and am now a fan of you two. In the spirit of this thread, Go to Coal, Hopeful Future. Tee hee, I did burn. I see Weave post, and agree. Sniping has increased. Interest, in direct contradiction to what you hear from those who are paid to promote the product, has decreased. Time to jettison dead weight?

 I am sorry. I am excited very much for UB. It makes me sad that radio people say that Sabres season is compelling. I listen to UB news on radio, rather than compelling Sabres stories. I am sorry. The juxtaposition is saddening. Not just UB... Just about everything, opposed to the Sabres is saddening. I am sorry. Get it together, Anna! Stupido! I must try to like Sabres more. I must try to like Sabres more. I must try to like Sabres more. Go UB!

Are you a martyr?

I am indebted to Wikipedia's entry for Battered Wife Sydrome. Be sure to donate to them at some unspecified future date, if you like. I have had realization. I will not go back to losing partner.

Corned Beef Cabbage Potatoes Carrots, And Old Vienna, just to wash all that Irish filth out of system. ;)

Are you in the business now, my love, of deciding what we should or should not care about? Sounds important! I trust because you are so committed (asylum) that you will drown out less committed (monthy visit) voices... And we are moving on up in this big world! Do we finally have that winning losing plan? I will ride your coat-tails towards??? Like you say, we should not care about UB historic victories. I only drink one toast to UB victory, but to Sabres loss I dedicate the better part of a twelve pack.

The syndrome develops in response to a three-stage cycle found in chronic losing situations. First, tension builds in the relationship. Second, the tanking partner releases tension via losing while blaming the winner for having caused the losing. Third, the losing partner makes gestures of contrition. However, the partner does not find solutions to avoid another phase of tension building and release so the losing cycle repeats. The repetition of the losing despite the winners attempts to "make nice" results in the winning partner feeling at fault for not preventing a repeat cycle of losing. However, since the winner is not at fault and the loser is internally driven by the tanker’s need to control, this self-blame results in feelings of helplessness rather than empowerment. The feeling of being both responsible for and helpless to stop the losing leads in turn to depression and passivity. This learned depression and passivity makes it difficult for the winning partner to marshal the resources and support system needed to leave.

I mean to be a Russian mentor. I really do. But all of my senses revolt at the sight of #Blueprint. I dull my senses to be here. I doesn't take one, nor two, nor three. I must be four drinks in, before I can be positive in any way about this team. We all know that there are consequences for such heavy drinking. One doesn't want to end up on South Park Ave, seeing Billy Buffalo, asking for selfie with mascot, only to find out he is admitting psychologist at local psychological ward. I am not role-model. Why would you want to be sad?

The bone-fires are now heaped high, and prepped for our next victory. :flirt: :flirt: (from Me and YO's)

Are your sure you are not Russian? That was a very Russian thing to say, Mr. PuttIn.

Faith, in one thing or the other gives hockey fan much peace of mind. It's those without faith that experience much stress about this or that, and they don't make the finish line.

I've been with Mars. How do you like him? As for FINALLY having a superstar player who can lead them to the cup, without having to go through the first round theatrics, are you dreaming, or just listening to the radio too much? Let me tell you a story: we can't win unless we have the best player. Thankfully, the two best players ever, one or the other, are ours excusively if we lose as much as possible. Oh, let me assure you, because you can trust me, that you are having more fun right now than you would be having if we were competing for the playoffs. Yes, yes. You can trust me. We are having fun. Don't you listen to the radio?

I'll tell you, you can really be your true self here. Some posters, for instance, cheer against the very team that the rest of us our rooting for. True Liberalism, I tell you.
