Now I almost want to thank the officials for that weak penalty call -

Joining the game late. 21 shots on goal by Phoenix in the first? Ugh! -

The importance of a shut out goes up, as the team's collective goal output decreases. For a team with a lower goal output, a shutout could mean the difference between a win and a loss. And Miller apparently isn't up to it any more - he hasn't had one in nearly 2 years.

Much better actually, since he's putting in the effort on ice since Ted Nolan took the reins. I probably won't cry when he departs, but I'm not clamoring for his figurative head on a platter either any more. -

Ville Leino, he tasks me, he heaps me..... -
Lets look at at the 2013-14 shut out stats for the other 3 division's cellar teams; Edmonton Oilers - 3 Nashville Predators - 2 NY Islanders - 1 That doesn't reflect well on Ryan Miller. Their goalies aren't playing behind dynamite lines either, but they've managed to achieve shut outs nonetheless.
-
Like I said, it's never his fault. Only when he does something good, can we then assign the credit to Mr. Ryan Miller. Me? I'm kind of thinking that if he was truly "elite" as so many on the forum seem to think, then Miller would have managed one measly little shut-out in the last 2 years, at least against a bad team or a team with a cold offense, of which we've played a fair number of them in that span.

Ask anyone that watches the games with me - whenever I see "# 23" appear on the ice - I act like William Shatner in the Twilight Zone episode "A Nightmare at 20,000 Ft" - yelling "He's out thereeeee!!!!!!!!!!" That bum is like my personal hockey gremlin or something. :wallbash: -
Fleury got a shut out last night - that's Fleury's 4th shut out just this season. I like to point out periodically that Miller doesn't have any shutouts yet this season. Nor any last season. In fact, if his shutout drought continues, in March it will be a full two calendar years since Miller has earned one. Of course, that's not Miller's fault. It never is. :)

For some inexplicable reason, Hodgson and Ott were both saddled with Leino on their line. Any line Leino is on... it's like they're playing with 4 1/2 men on the ice. And Leino had an astonishing 19.10 of ice time..... WTH?????? Basically, when he's on the ice - the Sabres' chances of scoring a goal plummet. So to have him on there for nearly 20 minutes - it's almost like the Sabres are spotting the opposing team a full 20 minutes. Get that lazy slimy slug OFF the ice, for pity's sake!!! -

I am watching this game timeshifted as I had a meeting tonight. Let me just say...words cannot adequately express the disgust I feel in seeing that slug Leino on the ice again tonight. -
Maybe Leino's fall was sufficient distraction to the other team to allow the goal hence the assist? Maybe Leino could try clutching at his own throat and pretend his choking down in front of the other team's goal? Might make enough distraction to allow Buffalo to sneak it in? LOL
-
Leino was credited with an assist the other night.... his first point in a very long time. As far as an 'assist', apparently it was by falling flat on his face in front of the opponent's goal, I called it a 'sympathy point' when I saw it. :)

hahahahaha, I LOVE this topic. BTW, any word on the status after the injury last night? Amazing how much he gets hurt for a guy who tries to stay out of the thick of things, and is mostly irrelevant in every game.

Good to see you back, Tondas. Hadn't seen you post in some time. Anyways I don't even understand why Leino was on the ice at all tonight. He's as fragile as a porcelain doll anyways. A one-hit wonder. -

Wow...outstanding win. They beat a good team too. I am amazed they did so well losing the valuable contributions of Leino so early in the game. :) -

What the bloody hell is Leino out there for? Another GA while Leino is on the ice! -
You are SO right! Where's the "Leino Needs To Go!" topic? :)

I've lost an edge - the edge of Stafford-rage. I wouldn't be angry if he stays, I wouldn't be angry if he leaves. :)

After seeing what happened to the previous Browns' coach, I am surprised Pettine would want to work for that organization - they seem kind of classless. Oh well, good luck Doug - you may need it. Oh, and this is somewhat relevant - and pretty darn funny too. :) http://profootballmock.com/browns-fire-new-head-coach-sixteen-hours-job/
