Even worse than the last 5 minutes - I went back and replayed - the US had a 2-0 lead at the 3 1/2 minute mark. That's just horrible. -

Would that suck or what, to lose one of your star players for the last 1/3rd of the season due to an injury at the Olympics? It was an outside chance for the Islanders to crawl into the playoffs but still..... must be a major source of frustration for the Islander fan-base. It's one thing if he were injured during a regular season game,,,,, but in an extra-curricular activity like the Olympics? Jiminey Christmas!

The best cure for Leino's depression would be his very own personal Gunnery Sgt Hartman to help him man up, square his sorry ass away, and make him start @#$%ing tiffany cufflinks! He needs to see something like this every time he enters HSBC Arena!

Depressed? Oh, wahhh!!! My attitude towards Leino is like that espoused by Gen. Ennis C. Hawkes in the 1955 film "Strategic Air Command" , when after an air-force base failed a surprise security drill conducted by the General's troops, he unsympathetically informed the Base Commander - " Don't tell me about your little problems! I'm only interested in results!"

I have never really believed Enroth to be better than Miller, or even as good. I think he tries harder than Miller though, many times.

When a big guy fights a little guy, the ONLY one who can gain respect is a the little guy. And Latvia definitely earned respect by giving Canada everything they could handle, showing endless heart, and playing a full 60 minutes.

The United States armed forces have drafted detailed plans for the invasion of Canada. The U.S. has even conducted, in the past, war games where U.S. troops have been massed near the Canadian border in a mock invasion. :lol:

Somebody needs to give Ted Nolan a top shelf team to coach. He seems to be able to extract the best possible from every player, even untalented ones.

Poor Enroth likely won't even get a chance to appear on ice - I went back and looked at the box scores - it looks like Lundqvist played every game, even the preliminaries.

And in a tremendous irony, there are no Maple Leafs on the Canadian team - the only two are on Team USA. lol!!! It's hard to believe I'm going to be rooting for Kessel and VanRiemsdyk but there it is. It will be strange to see Patrick Kane playing against his buddies Toews, Sharp and Keith on the ice.

Well, 12 pm Friday - the game everyone wants to see - Team USA vs Team Canada in the Semi-Final.

That's insane - Latvia's goalie faced nearly 60 shots from some of the creme de la creme of the NHL, and lopsided Time of Possession for Team Canada and only gave up 2 goals. And honestly he faced as many shots as most goalies do in 2 games. The guy played his HEART out and pushed himself to the point of collapse. I had to see him take a loss for that performance.
