Wow, this is HORRIBLE news. There wasn't a single word in the past few months that I recall about PLF being "temporary" - that's some sort of face-saving spin. There was a post a few pages back about Buffalo sports taking one step forward and two steps back. This seems to epitomize that. Bet there's more shakeups and fallout.

Pat hired Murray to make the decision. He should abide it, even if he doesn't agree with it. He certainly should say to Murray - "I don't agree with it because...." and then make his case. But if that doesn't sway him, then live with it. And I would hate to see Ted go..... but if Murray thinks its for the best for the future success of the team, then let's give him his chance.

I agreed with you up until just a few months ago. He was Leino-awful in the first weeks of the season, before Regier was fired. I thought he was no good - but he turned a big corner after Ted came in.

Tyler Myers has done a total 180 in performance since Ted Nolan arrived. He's the kind of player the Sabres need on the roster - WTF would they get rid of him? I understand the Miller trade.... he's a UFA in the last few years of his career - but Tyler Myers is young and has the majority of his career in front of him. Trading him would make no sense, IMHO. They would get rid of him, and then immediately need another Tyler Myers.

This forum should go, en masse, to the FNC and demand answers. I vote for D4rksabre to read our ultimatum. :P

When the Sabres tied the game late in the 3rd period on Wednesday, Leino battled Lucic on the boards, and pushed Lucic off the puck, then 5 seconds later the puck is in the Boston net. I didn't notice that until I re-watched it, but I was impressed.

Ted did mention in last night's post-game presser that he considers Drew one of the leaders of the team. :P

Pat wasn't there on such a huge night, when Ryan Miller and Steve Ott are both traded? If true, that doesn't sound good at all.

I hope this is just rumors - last thing the team needs is PLF, or Ted or Murray, to leave. Jeebus!

I hope Ryan Miller can win a Stanley Cup while he's still physically capable. And there clearly won't be any re-issues of the signed Ott's Otters. :(

Well, if San Jose hadn't got that 2nd goal in the last two minutes..... Ted might have put him in for the last 30 seconds. But... I think just like the athletes, Ted likes to win. I don't think Ted is onboard for the Tank.

Sabres can't get it out of their zone here in 2nd. Looks like trade shock setting in....should help the Tank.

TMI !!! I had to fire up the DVR last night and watch the highlights of this one again. That winning OT goal by Matt D'Agostini - and the beaming expression on his face as he stood against the boards in joyous celebration - friggin priceless. It may end up being the biggest highlight of a losing, playoff drought season. It was especially good that it happened on a "hostile" network - NBCSN, and that it was Chara himself who was caught off guard. Good stuff. Ted sure has brought the hard-working hockey team back to Buffalo.

Is he actually going though? Many thought if a trade was in the works, he would not be starting tonight.

Myers handled the incident perfectly. And an official on top of the situation and taking everything into consideration ...imagine that?

How often do we get to spend our tax dollars on something that's just plain kick-ass? I'm happy for every one of my tax dollars that's gone towards that baby. You oughta see one blast overhead full tilt a couple hundred feet up like I did that time in the Adirondacks - it was startling, lemme tell ya, AND awesome.
