Well, perhaps because what exactly is the evidence he is "having issues"? Is he raving? Has he acted disjointedly or irrationally? Or was it because he left the Islanders? I would daresay the Islanders and their owner had more issues (at that time) than PLF.

The above presupposes that PLF's resignation was a voluntary one. I don't think there's enough information available at this time to decide that. After the T.D. on Wednesday, I hope we learn more of the backstory. Hopefully all this churning drama won't negatively impact Mr. Murray's ability to get trade offers, or make trades.

Anyone is "replaceable" - the question is - are the replacements as good as what went out the door? Yes, PLF leaving isn't the end of the world - but it may represent a huge lost opportunity and set back for the future development of the team.

Quit or forced out? If he decided to return to the NHL because he didn't enjoy his role with the Sabres, why was it done under such a cloud of secrecy? If it were indeed a friendly departure, why no press conference to announce it with Pat, Black, Pegula, etc? Ted Nolan's discomfiture over PLF's sudden departure seems to suggest it wasn't a "voluntary" thing at all.

The Barnaby tweet may be the most "spot on" so far, regardless of anyone's personal opinion of Barnaby. He stated, early on, it had NOTHING to do with Ted Nolan and NOTHING to do with the Miller trade.

It's going to be weird when the Blues play the Sabres next month.

He didn't look sweaty or tired at the end - just happy. Blues must be pleased with their aquisition - I thought Ryan had a good game, especially on a brand new team, when he's played for Buffalo for 12 years. The two goals that got by him - they weren't really his fault. First one was a weird deflection off the skates of a Blues player, and the second - he had no help in front of the net.

Just hope it doesn't hurt whatever additional trades Tim Murray might have in the works.
