There are 16 games left in the season. Even if he scored 5 or 6 goals in that span, I would find it hard to believe that would save his job for next season. And if it did, I'd kind of question GMTM's decision making.

If Weber misses any ice time, it could hurt the Tank. He's definitely Commander Leino's second in command - the guy is brutal.

Howevah, . Stafford looks like a superstar compared to Leino. Leino is 437th place in points, and 662nd place in goals. ;)

See, you had to go and spoil it, by bringing up the rest of the NHL. His stats look decent when compared with the rest of the Sabres, but not so good in comparison to the rest of the league. Stafford is 165th in the league in goals, and way down at 206th place in points. That's really not very good, is it? :lol:

Well, I was being a little bit facetious in that statement - LOL Those last couple games - he knocks down one of our best skaters - Ennis - twice, and then gets taken out by the linesman in front of the bench - that's indescribably bad right there - :lol:

Well, I think the interview does put to rest one theory; that being Pat left because he decided he was happier in his role working for the league. If that were the case, why wouldn't he say it? The Sabres certainly wouldn't mind that being disclosed.... If Pat had said "You know, Bucky, I accomplished my main goals for the team, but I found that I missed my role in the league, and my lifestyle, and decided it wasn't the direction I wanted to take my life in, so I tendered my resignation". And if it was an amicable parting of ways, Nolan certainly wouldn't be distressed... especially since the new GM was offering him a 3 year contract. To me it seems that the only reason for silence would be "drama" of some sort - egregious misconduct of some sort on his own part that necessitated his termination, or some kind of Romanesque power play in the executive offices that forced him out. But we'll probably never know, much like the reasons for Nolan's first departure. 10 years from now, there will still be conjecture and questions surrounding it.
