  1. Enroth has already faced 18 shots, and has 16 saves. A decent performance, especially since one of the Montreal goals probably should have been wiaved off. 18 shots faced is like a normal entire game workload for Ryan Miller at the Blues these days. :)
  2. Hey, they have Risto on the same line with Leino - at least they're honoring Darcy Regier's standing instructions. Remember, on or around the time he was acquired, Regier said one of his goals was to add a Finn so he could pair Leino with a fellow Finn. Because that's so very important that we do so. B-)
  3. In general, they only get waived off when they're Sabres' goals.
  4. Wow, Leino with two good face off wins. We should keep him another year.
  5. Leino's salary is $4.5 million per year. He's currently the 2nd highest paid Sabre - behind Tyler Myers. Here's some fun math - This is Leino's 3rd year, so the Sabres have paid $13,500,000 for him so far, and he's scored a total of 10 goals in 3 years. Let's assume he doesn't score before the end of the season. So the Sabres basically paid $1,350,000 for each of those 10 goals. I wonder if any offensive player in the history of the NHL has an average cost per goal over multiple seasons that's this high? He's a little more cost effective if you use points instead of goals. He's got 43 points so far in his 3 seasons with Buffalo Assuming no more points this year, that works out to $314,000 per point. What a deal, huh? Gotta hand it to that "Hockey Genius" Regier.
  6. Nice solid 4-1 win by the Blues over the Predators. So Ryan is now 6-0-1 since he and Otter joined the Blues. The Blues have earned 13 of 14 points since the trade, and are now the overall points leader in the NHL. His post-Buffalo GAA is something like ~1.7 I'm guessing he's not missing life in Buffalo too much any more.
  7. yeah, almost as good a chance as that of a snowball in hell. :)
  8. BTW, the Sabres are 28 points out of the Wildcard spot, and there are only 30 points now left in the season (15 games). One more loss and they'll be on the brink of mathematical elimination - already. But they're already eliminated by common sense - the Sabres would have to collect 28 out of 30 points. And that ain't happenin'. The team is truly gutted now.
  9. That was ugly. If anyone cares, the Blues still have a full period left in their game against Nashville - and Miller is on cruise control in that one - 3-1 lead. +
  10. Wow, that was brutal by Scott. That will probably earn a talk with Shanahan.
  11. Well, that empty netter seals the deal. Oh well, thanks to the law of averages the odds of Leino scoring in the NEXT game are even better than in this game.
  12. Oh, nevermind - sigh! Gee I wonder why Weber's plus-minus is among the worst in the NHL?
  13. Stafford wasn't happy with himself about missing that shot off the faceoff.
  14. Ville Leino.... he has to score eventually, doesn't he? To me it seems like the odds of him scoring in the subsequent game increase with each game played where he doesn't score. :)
  15. Sounds reasonable. But....you'd think a decision would have been made by now, this far into the season. Not like there isn't a big pool of data on the guy by now.
  16. I didn't realize.... Leino is the 2nd highest paid player on the team and the highest paid offensive player - he makes 50% more than Ennis. Wouldn't it be demoralizing for the other lesser paid players to see Leino out there so uselessly... making bad decisions, scoreless for the entire season, and getting an apparent pass from Ted Nolan on it? Ted keeps giving him ice-time. http://www.capgeek.com/sabres/ Should interference against Ristolainen been called? Risto didn't have the puck but was prevented from reaching the goal.
  17. And speaking of Leino.... Rick and Rob seemed quite critical of Leino's treating the puck like a game of "Hot Potato" and getting rid of it as quickly as possible instead of shooting. In the interview, Leino talks about changes to his stick .... maybe try shooting with it instead of looking at it? LOL
  18. My theory is - he knows why Nolan left the Sabres the first time.
  19. Important note - as of the morning of 3/14, we're 27 points behind the 2nd seeded wildcard team- Philly -46 to 73 - with 16 games (32 points) left. 3 more losses, and the Sabres are mathematically eliminated from 2014 playoff contention. That will be an important Tank Milestone right there. AND.... at the current pace - in March they've lost 5 out of the 6 games they've played - this could come as early as Tuesday's game against Calgary.
  20. A question unanswered from Koshinski's story; Was it GMTM that PTF was chaffing against, or was it the Inner Circle/Penn State Boys? If it's the latter, then hopefully GMTM won't run afoul of them, or his time at FNC could be shortened too. Is it common in the NHL for the owner to have a bunch of buddies working in the front office, doing jobs no one is quite sure exactly what they do, except drawing lucrative pay checks?
  21. I think both Neuvirth and Enroth have quite a bit better SVG % than Miller since the trade. Yet Ryan is now 5-1 since joining the Blues. I was just watching the Blues play the flames - Miller gave up 2 goals in something like 25 shots but.... the Blues scored FOUR goals in the 3rd period to give St. Louis a 6-2 win. Ryan doesn't even have to work as hard for better results.
