^^^ This I never would have thought a Ted Nolan coached team would act like a bunch of cream-puffs out there, but that's what we're really seeing. The more easy-going the team is, the more cheap shots they'll take, and resultant injuries they'll sustain. They got Teddy on Valium or what?

I'm not implying that we should have Torts as a coach. Just using him as an example of a coach who'd have a lot more VIBRANT reaction to the BS that Philly pulled against us, and the league clearly turns a blind eye to, given the joke of a 4 game suspension for a guy with priors.

The continued and obvious lack of anyone responding to our players getting punked and hurt on the ice - not to mention all the ice time for Ville Leino (17 minutes in last night's game - really?) it's starting to raise a few questions in my mind about Ted. I expected more fire out of him. Say what you will about Torts - he'd have been going ballistic on the bench, and maybe at the other team's locker room :lol: if his players were getting repeatedly cheap-shotted like the Sabres were last night.

I am surprised the Phillys took such liberties with the Sabres, and were not more fearful of arousing the rage of the 5' 8" Conacher and the 5' 9" Ennis. :lol:

It's really bad when your goalie takes a shot like that and no one does anything. There would be blood on the ice from Blues retaliation if someone cheap-shot Ryan Miller like that. Blues were ready to beat some behinds just because the opposing team took a shot on goal on Miller a second or two after the end of period horn sounded. They would have gone ballistic if Miller had taken an elbow like that. Point of fact - Miller would NOT take an elbow to the head like that BECAUSE the other team knows how the Blues would react.

Otter now has the WORST plus/minus in the NHL. He's 5 ahead of even Weber. And it seems odd they were resting Ryan Miller again. They just sat him in the Buffalo game a few days before. It's not like they were playing a bottom rung team like the current Sabres - the Hawks are top-shelf.

Lots of goonery by Philly was left uncalled. Look at the GIF above - I think Conacher took a stick in the back of the head, and his helmet went flying. There should have been TWO penalties called - one on Rinaldo, and the other for the high stick on Conacher. As I recall, the only called penalty was against Rinaldo. Oh, and Rinaldo had this to say at ESPN about the Ruhwedel hit - I don't think he's too contrite - his attitude seems to be oh, well, these things happen - it's part of the game "I had a lot of speed going at him. I put my shoulder down, and as he shot the puck my shoulder hit him clearly," Rinaldo said. "Proof is in the pudding right there. I shouldn't have done it. There's no need for it. We're up 4-0, but it's part of the game. "That always happens with me. I get on a good streak and then something bad always happens. I try not to think about it too much." The Sabres should have been retaliating - and it didn't happen. I would expect that from a softie like Lindy Ruff, but a Ted Nolan coached team?

I never thought I'd say it - but I'll be kind of happy when the season is over. There was no fight in this team tonight - Philly kept making them their bitch and nothing was done to settle the score. And with 4 games left in the season, who cares about suspensions?

Hard to argue for Weber - he has grit, but he does some unbelievably stupid things too often on the ice. And he has ZERO scoring ability. At -32, he's now 4th worst in the league in plus minus, only 3 points behind Ovechkin. However, Ovechkin has scored a lot of goals - so have many others in the bottom 10 in plus minus, which makes them less egregious. You can defend players with bad plus/minuses if they have an offensive contribution. But Weber has ZERO goals with 63 games played, and only 5 points. In fact, in the current BOTTOM 40 at ESPN in plus minus, he is the ONLY player in that "illustrious" company not to have scored at least one goal. In his entire CAREER of 237 games he's only scored 6 goals. And his scoring has 'cooled off' substantially in his last 105 games from his first 132 games. ONE goal in the last two seasons, and 105 games. He's amazingly bad

Good Tank loss - it was surprisingly competitive, just like the last game but the Tank emerged victorious and the Sabres have secured the bottom position in the League

I swear - Leino spends more time on his backside than any other player on the team. LOL

Mike Weber is trying to crawl back into the +/- lead that he lost. He's in 5th place now for the worst plus/minus. He does have one distinction - he's the only player in the bottom 20 in plus/minus who has NOT scored a single solitary goal this season.
