  1. Brand new game now! That's the thing with the Kings.... they don't get rattled by getting behind.
  2. LOL - that French Irishman is either an idiot or complete tool/homer of the NHL. LOL
  3. NBC's French Irishman, Pierre McGuire, is rumored to be a candidate for the next Pens GM job. http://espn.go.com/nhl/story/_/id/11025503/pierre-mcguire-candidate-pittsburgh-penguins-gm-job
  4. Ended up stopping at Wegmans after the gym. I saw the Naked juice drinks - boy, they are pretty pricey at $3.49 each. I ended up buying a bottle of Bolthouse Farms Chocolate protein shake, which was considerably less at $2.49. 30g of whey/soy protein per bottle, and it's absolutely delicious - like a chocolate milk shake. No suffering involved in drinking it down. :) I wonder if 1/2 of the drink is sufficient protein - 15 grams?
  5. Thanks, Dennis! Anyone else taking ZMA? I just started a few weeks ago - when they mentioned vivid dreams in the reviews, they weren't kidding! LOL
  6. Is there a good protein shake I can buy at Wegmans post work-out? I could do that tonight after I leave the gym - that's something I've never worried about, but it sounds as if it's very important within 30-60 minutes after exercise ends.
  7. Where was the internal investigation though before by the NBA? There were mountains of evidence in the housing discrimination cases - it didn't go to court because he took a defacto plea-bargain. This has gone on for years and years. But the NBA doesn't do anything until TMZ has a web article about? Maybe TMZ ought to get hired by the NBA for their own internal policing? LOL
  8. Numerous articles online about the NBA's blindspot when it came to Donald Sterling's racism - and it wasn't just housing discrimination. Like many have said, if there wasn't a tape leaked to numerous news sites and websites, the NBA would have probably swept it under the rug like always. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/basketball/lawrence-sterling-blind-spot-nba-avoided-years-article-1.1773491 And even if you try to use the excuse that he 'settled', and it somehow wasn't an admission of guilt, there was enough circumstantial evidence to warrant a full investigation by the NBA. But there's no 'evidence' they did any such thing until the Stiviano affair.
  9. You'd almost think Bettman was a weasely little lawyer from the way he acts. Oh wait..... hahaha, when I called him "little" I didn't even realize he's a tiny pixie of an ambulance chaser - like 5' 5" or 5' 6" We need an R. Lee Ermey to ask him how tall he is - if he says 5' 6" then of course - "5' 6"??? I didn't know they stacked ###### that high!" LOL
  10. I usually hit the gym three times a week, been doing so since February 2012. I do the circuit of Cybex machines - chest press, then the Cybex assisted chin up, lat pull down, lat row, leg extension, leg curl, leg press, fly machine, shoulder press, sit up/back extension, tricep, and bicep. I finish with 30 to 60 minutes on the Cybex bike (watched the start of a lot of Sabres games on it too, as they have TVs attached - LOL) Unfortunately at age 55, my knees aren't what they were - used to run quite a bit in my 20s and 30s - quite a bit of knee pain now when I kneel or get down on the floor to work on something. Also, I have a sciatic issue that started in 97, when I fell off the back of a tractor trailer while helping unload it for a charity event. I had started running last year again after years of not running - ran a Corporate Challenge 3.5 mile race but slow - took me 35 minutes - I had wanted to run under 30 this year, but... effin' sciatic flared up last July, which made it impossible to run, and I missed a month at the gym last year. I figured it was the running that caused the sciatic issue to return, so I gave up on it. I am now just sticking to walking and cycling, Moral is - even working out, you'll still get old. LOL
  11. I never read that topic - I thought maybe D4rk was nervous or worried about something?..... didn't grok that it was the workout topic. :)
  12. You should check with Tank before starting new topics.
  13. NBA was definitely hypocritical in their position on Sterling - they knew about his intense racism for years, and did nothing.
  14. Yeah, pretty apathetic about the Cup myself. I would have preferred seeing Chicago/Rangers. And the good series are over now. The Cup is almost anti-climatic. The only thing I'm curious about, and will be watching to see.... Will Quick end up Kreidered? Quick sidelined is about the only scenario in which the Rangers have a chance.
  15. haha - I love the organ player tossing in a few appropriate musical cues at various stages of the brawl. The outcome should be a 4 on 4 penalty for too many men on the ice - lmao!!!!!
  16. Well, in the end the 92% likelihood that the team up 3-1 in the series wins Game 7, prevailed. I think the only chance the Rangers realistically have of winning the Stanley Cup will be if they can Kreider Jonathan Quick early in the series. Otherwise, we pretty much just saw the Stanley Cup Final tonight.
  17. Ok, here are the two team's game 7 stats http://www.whowins.c...s/nhl2014n.html "After Game 6: The Chicago Blackhawks visited and outscored the Los Angeles Kings 4-goals-3 to tie best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1234 at 3-games-all. When tied 3-games-all in a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series, the Chicago Blackhawks have a Game 7 record of 6-5 (5-2 on home ice, with an active four-Game 7 winning streak at home), while the Los Angeles Kings have a Game 7 record of 6-4 (4-3 on road ice). The Chicago Blackhawks thus seek to achieve a WLLLWWW win order for a series victory for the second consecutive playoff year, having also done so against the Detroit Red Wings in 2013. The Los Angeles Kings seek to join the 2011 NHL Boston Bruins and the 1988 NBA Los Angeles Lakers as the only MLB/NBA/NHL teams to win three Game 7s in the same playoff season. The Chicago Blackhawks hope to make the Los Angeles Kings become the only MLB/NBA/NHL team to lose three consecutive games in three consecutive best-of-7 playoff series in the same playoff season." So the Blackhawks are .550 winning% in Game 7s, and the Kings are .600 winning % in game 7. When Game 7 is played on the road, LA = .570% WP, and when the Blackhawks play at home, .714 WP% Hawks definitely do better in Game 7s at home, then vs on the road. LA does slightly worse on the road than at home in game 7.
  18. Here's the webpage - it's all black and white NOTE: TEAMS HAVE TRAILED 3-1 IN A BEST-OF-SEVEN SERIES A TOTAL OF 229 TIMES AND HAVE COME BACK TO WIN THE SERIES ON 20 OCCASIONS OR 8.7% OF THE TIME. http://www.nhl.com/i...ge.htm?id=31154 In all the history of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, in 229 instances, teams have trailed a best of 7 series 3 games to 1. And of those, only 20 times has a team rallyed and come back to win, or 8.7 out of 100 times Therefore the odds are 100/8,7 = 11.5 to 1 against the Blackhawks winning tomorrow's game. And since it's only happened 20 times before, AND, the Rangers did so already this season (they trailed the Pens 3 to 1), that makes it unlikely that two improbable occurrences will happen in the same season. I think it makes it even more unlikely the Blackhawks can overcome the metrics that are against them. Chicago should have me as a motivational speaker, I'd love to get em fired up with all these discouraging numbers. "Fellas, I've crunched the numbers, and the figures clearly indicate you're pretty much @#$%-ed"   So
  19. Statistics are not in favor of the Blackhawks. I read at NHL.com that when a team goes 1-3 in a best of 7 series, only about 8% of the time do those teams rally to win. More than 10 to 1 odds against the Hawks beating the Kings tomorrow.
  20. Games like these last two LA-Chicago games are why I love playoff hockey, and why hockey has become, in the last few years, my favorite team sport to watch. Chicago is not going quietly into that good night.
  21. The Kings had done a great job of neutralizing Kane in the first 4 games of the series. But now 7 points in 2 must-win games..... His play in the 3rd period last night was tremendous, and forces a Game 7 back in Chicago. Great performance.
  22. Lundqvist responded to being benched the previous game with a good performance. There were only 18 shots against him, though, so I wouldn't call it incredible - but he was definitely playing like Lundqvist again. The commentators mentioned that statistically Lundqvist is likely to be very good in the game after he's been benched; I think the commentator was alluding to the idea that it was probably a good idea to bench Lundqvist. I dunno how valid that is - they used 'wins' as the stat which by itself isn't a great stat. Tokarski played a tremendous game last night - he achieved a Miller Shut-Out, blocking 31 of 32 shots, 1.0 GAA and .969 SVG% and he got a 'loss'. The question I'd have - is his percentage of "wins" to losses in games following being benched significantly higher than his ordinary percentage of wins? Kreider should be proud - he's technically a rookie (only played 23 games last year), but now his name will be almost synonymous with a goalie getting taken out at a most opportune time by the other team. ie, "He got Kreidered" Accidentally, on-purpose. ;)
  23. That 1st overtime was one of the best, cleanest periods of hockey action I've ever seen - almost non-stop action and intensity. Holy ###### - what a win by the Hawks!! They're showing why they're the defending champs - but a huge uphill battle for them ahead.
  24. Wow, what a great game. Playoff time is the best time of the year for sports, IMO. Imagine how great it will be when Buffalo is competitive in the playoffs again?
  25. All joking aside, it's a good thing and a positive for the community. Hope it's the start of more such events in the future.
