With Leino still hanging around, it's almost like Regier never left. Why we would keep deadwood from the previous administration on the roster is a mystery to me.

2014 Stanley Cup Finals - NY Rangers vs. LA Kings
Jsixspd replied to X. Benedict's topic in The Aud Club
The Kings/Blackhawks series WAS the Stanley Cup Final - this was just the anti-climax. I think it's a safe bet to assume both teams will go deep into the playoffs again next season, haha, I love Otter! I understand the feeling - I get wistful thinking of the Sabres winning double-overtime playoff games. IF the Sabres rebuild is done as efficiently and effectively as Chicago's, that should be the 2016-17 season. -
If I'm Murray, I print this out - http://sabres.nhl.com/club/player.htm?id=8474551 frame it, and hang it on Pegula's wall for his continued reference. No need for further discussion, at least not with anyone with an IQ of 90 or more.

I got choked up last year, when Chicago beat the Bruins in their own crib to win the Cup. That was just beautiful!!!! -

I'm neither a Kings nor Rangers fan, nor do I have any hatred (Boston Bruiins) for either team, so heck, let's have it go seven games and Game Seven be decided in overtime. -

He can't be elite -in the Olympic Medal game against Finland, he had a GAA of 5.0, and only stopped 24 of 29 shots for a terrible SVG% of .823. That's AHL caliber right there, and very poor play. Oh wait, we're not discussing Ryan Miller....so let me pull off my side blinders and look at the preceding 4 Olympic games for a deeper perspective. In the previous 4 Olympic games, he had a GAA of 1.5, and had 108 saves out of 114 shots faced, for a SVG% of .947% Those are fantastic stats. And in the game against Canada that cost us a shot at gold, his GAA was 1.0, 36 saves out of 37 shots for a SVG% of .973. That's a tremendous game And I think a reasonable argument could be made that the US team were not interested in the Bronze after being eliminated, hence the lackluster effort by the entire team in the Bronze medal game. So that game shouldn't even be counted in any discussion about the worthiness of any single player on the US team. So for Quick, I'll argue Elite. ;) -

Or maybe that Quick in an Olympic Year is worse than Quick in a non-Olympic year? ;) -

Poor Robyn Regehr still hasn't been able to play. I hope he can get out on the ice Wednesday - could be his last chance to get in a game. He's only played 8 games in the post season, but managed to get 2 points. -

Fat lady is warming up for her song. I figured the Stanley Cup final would be anti-climatic; the series between LA and Chicago was the series that decided the Cup. I thought NY would stretch it out longer though. They may still force a Game 5, but I can't see it going much further than that. 24 out of 25 times, teams that have won the first 3 games of the Stanley Cup Finals have gone on to win the Cup. So the Rangers only have a 4% chance right now. -

Wow, that's an impressive stat. We could almost say the Kings are at an advantage if the opponent scores first - the opponent wears out, and then the Kings come on strong in the last 30 minutes or so of the game. Now, I had Center Ice for the last 5 weeks of the regular season, and I saw the Kings play in a few games - they didn't seem that impressive to me. They've REALLY turned it up in the post-season. -

Fair enough! Who knows what would have happened? Maybe waiving off the goal would have really fired up the Kings and they win in regulation. On a different subject, how many playoff games now have the Kings been in, where the other team scores first, or even twice, and the Kings come back to win from 2-0 or 1-0 deficits? Getting behind 2-0 seems to mean nothing to them. -

The Kings are a kick ass team, don't get me wrong. I just don't wanna see poor officiating change the outcome of the game and the series. If the Kings are going to win, let them win on their own merits, not because officials need eye exams. Even if, someday, if the Sabres are in the playoffs, and a Sabres player did the exact same thing that King did to Lundqvist, and a goal resulted, I would still say the goal should be waived off. I wouldn't want to see the Sabres benefiting from poor officiating any more than any other team. -

Maybe. The Kings scoring so early in the 3rd must have been a big shot in the arm for them, though, and gave them even more momentum. -

I just hate to think of the outcome of a great series between two excellent teams possibly decided on poor penalty calls or blatant non-calls. The Kings are a top-shelf, tenacious, hard-playing team - they don't need 'help' from the officials.. -

Here's the overhead shot - King looked like he pretty blatantly pushed his way in between McDonaugh and Lunqvist, and was pushing into Lundqvist when the goal was scored. A player can jockey for position, but when he's pushing against and physically interfering with the goalie, isn't that goal-tender interference? Here's the pertinent wording from Rule 69 - Goals should be disallowed only if: (1) an attacking player, either by his positioning or by contact, impairs the goalkeeper’s ability to move freely within his crease or defend his goal; Now the exception is - Incidental contact with a goalkeeper will be permitted, and resulting goals allowed, when such contact is initiated outside of the goal crease, provided the attacking player has made a reasonable effort to avoid such contact. Dwight King's was not initiated outside the crease, and King was pushing his way right in there. Lundqvist was clearly well inside the crease. -

So how was the 3rd LA goal in Game 3 not called as goaltender interference? What was the rationale there? Sure, the NY player, after the puck went in, shoved the LA player King and King fell on Lundqvist, but 1-2 seconds before, King was pushing himself right between Lundqvist and the NY player, and limiting Lundqvist's ability to move. Even the NBC commentators mentioned it interfered with Lundqvist's ability to play. And the reason I'm mentioning it now - my DVR didn't record the game and I missed that part of the game, so I recorded it this morning on the replay. Unbelievably bad call, and it changed the game. -

Yeah. Getting out to a 2-0 lead against the Kings in the 1st is almost the kiss of death. I think they've won every playoff game that's happened in. Game 2 will be very interesting - because now both teams have faced each other in a playoff game, and obviously adjustments will be made. -

Rangers were destined to lose when they got up early 2-0. That almost guarantees a Kings victory. The Kings are super resilient, that's for sure. -
