No Mans Land, based on the Chicago rebuild, and assuming that this season is equivalent to Chicago's final "tank" season". But with a mix of wins, a lot more enjoyable to watch vs this season and last.

Well, that sucks. Commiserations.

That's my great fear.... that our tank and rebuild will not be anywhere near as successful as was Chicago's. And I think of Chicago as the Gold Bar Standard in Tank 'N Rebuild.

^^^hahaha! Yeah, really.... if you're trying to tank, cut the best player loose for cryin' out loud. PLUS, being the top scorer, his trade value is the best it will be right now. :)

It's hard for me to believe that anyone playing on this team for all or most of the season won't be ruined by the experience. So how will we un-tank next season? How did Chicago do it? Were they able to shake good players out of the tank funk and recycle them into Champions?

May be one of the worst Sabres games ever. I worked on paperwork for work while watching it; it was so boring.... There was almost nothing to watch except the goals by the Leafs. And it was amazing we kept them from scoring as long as we did; the puck seemed to spend almost the entire game in the Buffalo zone. Tank or not, there are some teams I don't want to lose to - Bruins, Leafs, Philly...... Looks like it's gonna be a long season. :(

Wow, 1 goal in 14 periods of hockey. And the Sabres perfect PP record remains intact. The only thing saving Buffalo's bacon in this one - San Jose seems as bad at puck control and puck handling as does Buffalo. Lots of San Jose players fumbling with the puck.

Wow, watching the Sabres is as sleep inducing as counting sheep or taking Sominex.

1 goal in 4 games. Amazing. I was just checking the league +/- stats. The Sabres do not have a single player with a "+" rating. That's amazing too. Sabres are now down to an average of 1 goal per game. Meszaros' +/- of -9 actually exceeds the number of games (8) that the Sabres have played. LOL ANDDDD....... discounting the Carolina game (where half their goals this season were scored) the Sabres have scored 4 goals in 7 games. That would be 0.57 goals per game. So they're due to score their one goal per 2 games against San Jose. If Enroth could pitch a shut out they might win.

The especially brilliant aspect to GMTM's tank - all the players are going all out, trying to win, but incapable of so doing. So there's a bit of entertainment to keep the fans engaged -but the end result is a team even worse than last year's.

We're at the bottom right now. ESPN's standings have us at the bottom of the league - tied with Carolina with only 2 points - but they've played 2 fewer games than Buffalo so that earns us last place. We're also dead last in goals per game. 1.14 goals per game. Florida, the 29th ranked team, is a scoring juggernaut in comparison with 1.50 goals per game. Hard to win when most of the team's players are incapable of playing at an NHL level. GMTM has brought us Tanksign, the likes of which even God has never seen!

9 goals in 7 games. Ugh!!!! BTW, Buffalo is officially DEAD LAST in the NHL. We have 2 points, same as Carolina, but they've only played 5 games to our 7 so it makes us last. Hooray for the Tank!!! Yippee! Yeah.

Hate to rain on the parade of joy and ebullience, but..... the Vikings aren't a very good team and the Bills barely squeaked out a win. At Home. With the 12th Man and everything. I wouldn't start buying playoff tickets quite yet.

Amazingly, as bad as the Sabres are, they aren't ranked last in the league. We're still 1 point ahead of Edmonton, and tied with Winnipeg and Carolina in points. Granted, Edmonton has only played 5 games, and Winnipeg and Carolina 4 games vs 6 for Buffalo. But if Buffalo wants the worst record in the NHL, they're gonna have to go out and earn it. They've got some stiff competition from those 3 teams.

Unbelievable. The Sabres really are this bad that a backup goalie can just lounge out there. I'm surprised someone didn't bring a coffee and a cruller out there and set atop the net for him to.

Yup, I was thinking along those lines myself. And not just paid, but HANDSOMELY, LAVISHLY compensated, beyond the average American's wildest dreams of avarice.

Astonishing that these useless slugs get paid so much for so little.

It doesn't matter what WE think or say - a tank is a tank is a tank. And we've got a full-fledged Tank in progress. I mean, getting shut out, at home,by one of the worst teams in hockey? Zoikes!

How can the Sabres be -22 in the Corsi number after 2 periods against the bottom dwelling Panthers? Jeebus!!!!
