Tonight will be an important game for those following the Tank. Sabres play another cellar team - the Oilers - who are only one point ahead of Buffalo. AND Buffalo is currently in a 3 way tie for last place with Carolina and Columbus. If the Sabres win, Sabres could suddenly find themselves 3rd or 4th from last place.

Sadly, that's very likely the truth. Detroit did play Howard, though. Don't know how we managed that win. Thank goodness for Chris Stewart and ZG.

Some other stats that put Buffalo in a class by their own at the bottom; the following are all WORST IN THE NHL Goals per game - 1.08. The next worst team, Florida - 1.5 goals per game. Shots for - 20.9. The next worst team is Calgary with 26.8, or almost 6 shots per game more. That's a big gap! Shots against - 36.6 - next worst is Ottawa with 35.5 Where we really shine, though, is the shots against differential. Our differential is -15.7 in Shots Against. The next worst team is Colorado, with a -7.4. We literally lead this onerous stat by a 2 to 1 ratio! Goals against - tied for last with Arizona at 43. However, we pull away from Arizona in differential, which is the worst in the NHL at -2.23. Arizona has a paltry differential of -1.0 by comparison. In fact, the second worst is -1.0, so we lead this horrible stat by a full 1.23 goals! That's some pretty putrid stuff right there. GMTM has given us Tank, the likes of which even God has never seen!

Quick update on the Tank.... Buffalo is NOW once again in last place in points with 7. Carolina has pulled ahead with 8, and out of their early funk of injuries, etc. Columbus also has 8, but both Carolina and Columbus have played fewer games than Buffalo (2 fewer and 1 fewer respectively). Tank on, Wayne! Tank on, Garth!

You know, I just can't *hope* for a loss. Losses will be an inevitable part of this tank-nation, but I never hope for them. :(

Well, it's good to know that HE isn't the target of the investigation - in fact it seems likely he's a victim.

When Vick and the Jets play in Buffalo on 11/23, I double-dog dare the stadium music people to play "Who Let The Dogs Out" every time Vick gets sacked! :)

ZG is one of the rays of light on this team. I would like to see him on the same line as Stewart and Foligno -that would be a physical line right there.

GREAT GAME!!!!! Just got done watching it; I had DVR'd it earlier. Honestly, the 2nd Detroit goal should have never scored anyway - Mitchell took a high stick to the face that SHOULD have resulted in a penalty. Great effort by Chris Stewart to score that goal. He was also the first one to hug Neuvirth after the win. I'm liking what I'm seeing from him.

And again, where was the retaliation? Somebody should have boarded the hell out of Crosby for that and made him pay. The officials seem to have special Crosby rules - just like the NFL has Tom Brady rules.

Yup. That made me a fan right there. Plus, he's been playing very well and quite intelligently. Stewart and Girgensons are a couple bright spots in the current line up.

Another awful game, where the Sabres were completely outplayed and outclassed by a much better team. A coupe points Why was Benoit on some of the power plays? When is the last time he scored a goal? I thought Hodgson was mostly terrible. There was one point in the 2nd period where Hodgson had the puck solo on the ice, and a Pittsburgh player muscled passed him and took the puck away from him, and Hodgson did almost nothing to prevent it. WTF??

I forgot to mention - I thought Stewart played VERY well last night. And him going toe to toe with that prick Lucic - awesome!!!! First praise I've given to him. He seemed very blatantly apathetic in his first game here after the trade, and I've been kind of down on him. But he was clearly solid last night and deserving of respect.

I would LOVE to see Kaleta back.

When a player loses this forum, that player is finished in Buffalo. Except for maybe Stafford...... :)

The Tank isn't going well. We're 3 points ahead of Carolina now, including the meaningless point made in the loss to the Bruins last night. . Also, Carolina has an 8 game losing streak going - we only have lost 2 in a row. Granted, we've played 11 games to Carolina's 8, but they're looking like a more solid losing team than Buffalo. I hope they can turn it around.... Buffalo needs help. We can't even lose well.

Boy, I loved this game until Boston tied it, and then won in overtime! Disgusting. And why were the Sabres just letting Boston skate around in the Sabres zone with the puck, just before the OT game winning goal. It wasn't a power play - they were just letting Boston skate around their zone. No one on the Sabres line appeared interested in going after the puck. WTF??? If I were Nolan, I would have gone absolutely ballistic. Forget the 90 minute practice, next up is a 120 minute practice, ladies!!!! Also, when Boston scored the 2nd goal, I thought Ristolainen didn't pursue and defend aggressively enough.

AND as a bonus, CoHo sends Lucic to the locker with a brutal check. I can't wait!!!! :)

Wait - what happened to all the Hodgson love? It used to be any criticism of "CoHo" was almost always brutally rebuked. What has changed?

The Manager Challenge/Instant Replay rule that was instituted this season eliminated much of the Manager/Umpire arguing, and managers being ejected, etc.

A company based in war-torn Ukraine refurbishing used and antiquated Wussian Wockets. Seems like a formula for disaster to me.
