  1. Yeah, whether he's playing wing or center, the point is.... he's supposed to be an offensive star. For a d-man to be outscoring him and outpointing him - that's just sad. PS - I like Chris Stewart and generally pleased with his effort on the ice.
  2. Chris Stewart has more goals and points than Hodgson. Some "center" Hodgson is.
  3. As LGR4GM predicted, the down turn has hit the Sabres. They were lucky for a while, but the luck ran out. Buffalo is still worst in the NHL in shots allowed per game @ 35.4. And they're also dead last in shots per game; 23.4 They have the worst differential in hockey - minus 12. That is just abominable. The next worst team in the NHL in that stat - Columbus - is a minus 5.8. There's no team that's going to stay out of the cellar over a season with those stats.
  4. This hasn't been bumped in a month and a half. Hodgson has played 38 games, scored only 2 goals, and a meager 6 points. His +/- is brutal; a minus 15. I got to see him play in Detroit on 12/23..... in the telecasts, the cameras follow the puck, not Hodgson, so I made a point to observe his skating and play following the brief moments when he actually HAS the puck. He seems like he's always out of the action, for the most part. I dislike him more after seeing him play in person than watching him on the telecasts. I was at the game with a Red Wings fan, and I explained to him that when Hodgson is on the ice, its almost like the Sabres are short-handed, and that he gets rid of the puck like it's a hot potato. Nothing about Hodgson's time on the ice during that game to disprove either of my opinions. A soft player who surrenders the puck with abandon, and lacks scoring ability. He's like Ville Leino Ver 2.0.
  5. Well, that was ugly. Hodgson was almost useless, as per usual. Nice whiff he made of a good shot on goal opportunity.
  6. ^^^haha!!! That old foot-fondler Ryan.....
  7. Much of the responsibility for the sorry state of affairs at One Bills Drive, the Bills offense, etc, can be placed on the shoulders of Russ Brandon, and his actions/inactions during his tenure. I honestly think Pegula extends the Bills' failure chain by involving Brandon in decisions that are outside his expertise. He should have never been promoted beyond the marketing department. Pegula appears to be making the same mistake he made with Regier, only this time with Brandon. The best course of action would be to release all the Wilson era holdovers, and start with a clean sheet of paper.
  8. Let's see; I've seen some state that Brandon should be spared the ax because he's now just a little ole innocent marketing guy, and no need to can him for past misdeeds. miscues and mistakes. And yet here he is - involved in the interview process..... sounds like a bit more than just a 'marketer' to me.
  9. Was that before or after FSU slighted them by refusing to shake hands?
  10. The Mess??? LOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!! Perfect!!! He was awful in that game I saw last week in Detroit.
  11. Haha! Wide Right - No Goal!!!!!!!!!!!! d4rk was favored, but choked in the home stretch. :) I am doubtful that Nikita is pleased
  12. LOL at Jameson, his little outbursts on the sidelines and at FSU, the Home of EJ Manuel!
  13. We need a new Bills playoff prediction topic for 2015. I would already vote "NO"
  14. Well, so much for the controversy over whether to keep Orton or get another QB. I wouldn't worry about it. Had the Bills beat Oakland last week, then the Patriots would have actually wanted to win today's game to eliminate the Bills. NE had nothing to gain in this game, and played it like a pre-season. Even then the Bills only managed 17 points. Bills offense is beyond sad.
  15. SUNY Brockport's Dept of Meteorology used to calculate a "Dismality Index" for cities of the United States; which is the ratio of actual sunshine to possible sunshine. Perhaps they still do? The point being - the Rochester Area was Numero Uno in that regard; the most dismal. :)
  16. It's puzzling that Marrone isn't playing Manuel in this final, meaningless game. There has been press about Manuel continuing to 'develop' in the interim since he was benched in lieu of Orton. Wouldn't it make sense, in a real game, to see if he has 'developed' and determine if there's any point to retaining him? Unless the talk of development is simply face saving for those who were instrumental in his draft and the team has already deemed him the new Aaron Maybin?
  17. 117 with 8 days left = 14.6 per day. He's fading a bit - it was 13.9 per day when I calculated on the 22nd. He's going to need a strong finish to make it. Wide Right..... No post!!!!!!!!!! :)
  18. I thought Armia looked fine out there last night - he skates well, moves the puck smoothly and with control. The future is looking good.
  19. Well, that was disappointing. I tried to post during the game but found internet access was problematic. Couldn't believe the Sabres were leading after 2 - especially with a 2 to 1+ shot disparity to the Wings. PK was brutal - other than the wild Benoit short handed goal, the Sabres couldn't kill a penalty to save their lives. Meszaros was brutal - he'd be a good tank commander. I know some of you thought Hodgson was playing well - I thought he was mediocre. But maybe that's just personal prejudice - I know he gets knocked off the puck pretty easily, and passes it away like it's a hot potato when he gets it. And I saw that multiple times last night. And some of the penalties were questionable - I was there with a Wings fan - and he kept wondering about the calls too! Wouldn't have been such a big deal if the Sabres ordinarily good PK wasn't so awful. Players I was impressed watching - Nikita, Zemgus, Tyler. Zadorov's hit was unbelievable, and it was clean. The first thing I thought after it happened - "This pleases Nikita" - lolol!!!! As I said, disappointing the team collapsed in the 3rd, but the Sabres were decimated by illness and injury. and it's a tough road venue - Detroit fans had their house rocking! Proud hockey town, but deservedly so. And the Wings played pretty clean, I thought - a quality organization. Realistically, a team isn't going to win getting out shot by a nearly 3 to 1 ratio. That was brutal. And I even got a Mike Babcock Christmas ornament out of the deal - LOL
  20. Standing outside Joe Lewis waiting for the doors to open. Disapointed that so many Sabres out tonight. Ah well que sera sera
  21. Can D4rk's 20,000th forum post go "wide right"?
  22. I'll be at the game tonight. I'm sorry I won't get a chance to see the aforementioned players in action.
  23. At 19,861 total posts, and ten days left in the year - D4rk has to post an average of 14 posts per day to hit the mark by New Years. Very doable.
  24. You would *think* Pegula would have learned his lesson with Regier and Ruff... and apply that learning to the Bills. Brandon and Whaley should be replaced..... One of the reasons the Bills are in such a sorry state is thanks to personnel decisions that Brandon has made over the years.
  25. Yup. Denver shed a mediocre QB and acquired a mediocre QB. Cutler has a slight better QB rating over the years than Orton, 85.3 vs 80.8. Completion % - Orton 59.3 vs 61.7 Cutler. Yards per attempt - 7.19 Cutler vs 6.64 Orton. But Orton is MUCH better at protecting the ball, on average, than Cutler. Average interceptions per game played - Cutler - 1.1 interceptions per game Orton - 0.8 Average fumbles per game Cutler - 0.4 Orton - 0.2 On paper Cutler is a slight upgrade over Orton - but there is an intangible - leadership and enthusiasm, and I think dour-faced Cutler lags WAY behind Orton in that immeasurable stat. Cutler will demand a lot more money and a longer contract than Orton. It's not worth it. Wait and get a GOOD QB, a REAL improvement over Orton. The reason we're stuck with EJ Manuel is that idiot Buddy Nix insisted on drafting a QB from that QB class.
