Yeah, I had to watch the Coyotes feed last night - I saw Roby with the Yancey's Fancy advert too! I thought the feed had switched to Buffalo, but no... it was the Coyote feed.

That guy just exudes d-baggery, both on and off the ice. All I see is a Weasel. ;)

GMTM--"I think too much about McDavid. I wish I could help myself"
Jsixspd replied to matter2003's topic in The Aud Club
No more gas left in the Tank, apparently? :) Myself, I've kind of gotten used to it - IF I thought we would really have a serious chance at a run at the Cup starting in 2017-2018 by tanking in 15-16, I would endure it another year As opposed to ending up with another slightly above-average team that's lucky to squeak into the playoffs IF that's the result of the Tank failing this season, that is. -
Hodgson or Nolan: Who is more likely gone at the end of the season?
Jsixspd replied to Eleven's topic in The Aud Club
They're doing this with Lameo right now. At this point, Hodgson is even worse than Leino was. Hodgson appears to be yet another bad personnel decision by Darcy Regier, in the same way that Leino was. -

I wonder if GMTM is thinking, after gaining a point on Arizona, what he'll do without either McDavid or Eichel? Tank Ver 2.0 for 2015-16? Who will be available for draft in 2016? No point in trying to rebuild if the right chips aren't in play. I think most fans would be fine with another substandard year if it meant the beginnings of success in 2016-17. -
In the battle of Tank Commanders, GMTM came in second behind Field Marshall Darcy Regier.
-
Did the Arizona fans cheer at the outcome, as Buffalo fans did when Buffalo lost to Arizona at home?
-
This is not the outcome I wanted to wake up to. This team is in serious jeopardy of losing either McDavid or Eichel now. About as depressing as the gloomy, wintery weather.

Hodgson or Nolan: Who is more likely gone at the end of the season?
Jsixspd replied to Eleven's topic in The Aud Club
I agree with this - if GMTM finds a long term Stanley Cup caliber coach available during the summer, Nolan is gone. IF not, he'll keep Nolan as HC until something better comes along in the fall/winter. Chicago did basically the same thing with their tank coach, Savard. They kept him on until Joe Quenneville was ready to take the Center Seat. -
This was the soft useless squad of finesse players that the "Hockey genius" Regier built, with aid and advice from Lindy Ruff. What an absolute joke that guy was as GM for all those years. And what sort of head coach doesn't insist on some sort of retaliation for that Lucic hit? Just shows how soft and burned out Ruff was/is

hahah, ESPN's Burnside is whining about the Sabres starting Hackett. http://espn.go.com/blog/nhl/post/_/id/35112/tankingnot-tanking-dance-gets-jazzier-with-sabres-start-of-hackett-against-coyotes

9 more to go! And Arizona picked up a couple points, so we have a 5 point lead on them.
-
We need 10 more games just like this. A gritty performance with no points. :)

That's actually a good idea - bring in some goons to start fights and rack up majors and double minors - Buffalo has one of the worst PPKs in the league. It would entertain the fans, AND greatly aid the Tank. LOL

I have a bad feeling about this. Do you think the day after the last game, Ted Nolan will prance up to GMTM's office with a spring in his step, all happy over the 4 or 5 meaningless wins he managed to squeak out, enter GMTM's office, and declare in a dopey Looney Toons voice - "Doooohhhhhh, I won some games at the end of the season, boss. Dohhhh, do I get to keep my job? Did I do good, boss? Did I? Did I? Huh? doooohhh..."

Yup, any good team needs depth, guys that can step up to the 1st line and fill the shoes of a star when he's sidelined by injuries.

That's why I've said, it's foolish for Ted Nolan to think (if he indeed thinks this - who knows what his inner monologue is?) that he needs to push to win a few meaningless games after the Sabres have already been eliminated, in order to 'save' his job. I think it could have the OPPOSITE effect - it might tick GMTM off enough, if the draft pick is lost that Nolan's services will not be needed next season. Trying to shine at the end of the season out of some misplaced sense of pride could actually cost jobs.

"Arby's: Adrift in a Godless Eternity" - hilarious!!!!

That never occurred to me. I'm thinking it's not likely, but who knows? GMTM whispered in his ear over the summer?

LOL!!!!! I was comparing Cody Hodgson's stats for this year, with Ville Leino's from last year. Leino was the benchmark for overpaid, putrid, awful, ineffective hockey players Well, Hodgson has surpassed that. Leino played 58 games in 2014, and ended with 15 points and a plus/minus of -16. Yes, those were awful stats. But consider "CoHo" - he's at 66 games for the season, has only 12 points, and a dreadful plus/minus of -24. Total time on ice - Ville Leino had 837 minutes last year. Hodgson has surpassed that at 859 minutes total ice time. Leino's points per game average = 0.26 Hodgson's points per game average = 0.18 The Leino Bar has now become officially the Hodgson Bar. CoHo has earned every smidgen of disgust and dislike directed at him by Sabres fans. And his awful, awful performance this season cannot be fully explained away by "Well, the lines are worse this year than last year" Consider Tyler Ennis....in 2014 he had 21 goals and 43 points in 80 games. In 2015, thru 68 games played, he has 18 goals and 38 points, and his plus minus is better this year at -17, vs -24 in 2014. Ennis is on track to do as well, if not better, in 2015 than last year, even with the awful lines and the team shakeups. Hodgson has no excuse, as far as I'm concerned. He's a creampuff, soft player who floats and loafs, just like Leino. I noticed last night - the one goal that Boston scored - Leino.... I mean.... Hodgson..... was out there!

Well, that was awesome! Lindback with a career game, and beating the Bruins in a shootout in Boston, on St. Patty's Day. All the guys played hard tonight - Mike Weber has really played well the last couple games. Ok, I am satisfied. Back to the Tank now. Mission Accomplished. Somewhat fitting, given his name.
-
Yeah, I agree. He wanted to fight, and Mike Weber was clearly happy to oblige. :) Ovechkin made the error of letting Mike get braced against the boards, so he had better leverage to throw punches too! Apparently, like in the NFL, there are certain players to be protected via unwritten directives. Usually don't see the officials get in there when players are still throwing punches.

I believe if Boston gets even 1 point tonight against the Sabres, the Leafs will earn their nice little "e" next to their name in the standings. Toronto is run by geniuses. They fire Carlyle when they're 21-16. At that point, they're still well in the playoff hunt. They were in a slump at the time Carlyle was fired, but they've been in an actual tail-spin ever since! Since that point, and since Horachek was annointed HC, they've gone 6-22!!! They went from a .567 WP with Carlyle, to .272 with Horachek. They've only won 6 games since the beginning of January. Brilliant decision right there. What was the point?

I've got a couple shots left in a bottle of Irish Manor, and will be uncapping a fresh bottle of Jameson tonight, for Irish Coffee. :) This is the recipe I use for Irish Coffee Cup black coffee 1 shot Irish whiskey 1 teaspoon BROWN sugar HEAVY cream (do not use Cool Whip, Ready Whip, etc). Stir together coffee, sugar and whiskey. Let it stop swirling. Then take the back of a spoon, hold just above the surface of the coffee, and slowly pour a layer of heavy cream onto the spoon, and atop the coffee. That minimizes the mixing. Then, enjoy!

Ahhh, good old Beantownl How I love Boston and their teams. If Bostoners want to celebrate their precious Patriots there, they ought to go out and shovel some more snow, the jerks! Maybe pour some green food coloring on it in honor of St. Patty's Day? LOL Tank can wait tonight - hoping for an upset. I would love to see someone drive a nice solid punch straight onto that big beak of his! It's a tempting target. He and Lucic are probably two of the biggest lowlifes in professional sports. One poster here, last season, deemed them "some of the worst human beings there are" and I think that's an accurate assessment.
