  1. Awesome that we cut our losses with this guy. Now we can start winning, now that all the Regier-Era baggage/dead-wood is gone.
  2. Maybe it should be..... Mecha-Gary Bettman? ;)
  3. That's pretty stupid - while the Sabres are exceedingly unlikely to get to the Cup Finals (or even make the playoffs) in 2015-16, we're on the rebound and will be doing much better this season. Hardly the least likely to win the Cup
  4. Chicago fans continue the tradition of toilet papering Joel Quenneville's home after the Stanley Cup win. http://www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/hinsdale/news/ct-dhd-blackhawks-coach-tl-0618-20150615-story.html Wait.... who does Hodgson equate to?
  5. LOL!!! Well, it would have to be 1 cup or 2 cups. Which sounds horribly reminiscent of that disgusting "2 girls 1 Cup" video that circulated on the Interwebs a few years back.
  6. An amazing performance by a top-shelf team. Congrats to the 'Hawks!!!!! IF our rebuild is only half as successful as Chicago's. we'll be happy campers here.
  7. Get rid of the slug, unless his gutlessness and lackadaisical play was simply him secretly helping the tank. His points per minute of ice time ratio in 2014-15 was worse than Leino's the previous year, and no one shed any tears to see him go.
  8. VERY impressive... and at 16 years old too.
  9. I hope our rebuild is even HALF as successful as the 'Hawks. They have set the bar for tank and rebuild. 3 Stanley Cup appearances, and 5 Conference Finals appearances in 8 seasons since 2007.
  10. A coach with Stanley Cup gravitas and winning ways.... a solid winning record as an NHL coach...... excellent! Maybe only Joe Quenneville would have made me happier in the Center Seat; excellent news and our post-tank rebuild is well under way.
  11. Battista serves a crucial role -no one knows exactly what he does, or how he meshes with/meshed with Nolan, Murray,,et al. So, if something does go awry, it's easy to assign him the blame. LaFontaine mysteriously departs? Battista was probably involved. Buffalo loses the draft.... again.... well, Battista? Babcock passes on Buffalo for Toronto.... that darn Battista again.....
  12. I would laugh if they did and saw that! LOL
  13. I want to see a Stanley Cup winning coach working for the Sabres this fall. My needs are simple - I don't want to waste years on an experiment with an AHL coach, or someone without a winning track record, hoping they'll succeed. We need a proven producer on the team.
  14. Yeah. Toronto is years behind Buffalo in the rebuilding process. It will probably take at least 3 years for Toronto to get to where Buffalo is now. At least 3. And don't forget, Buffalo is still a couple years removed from post-season competitiveness. So Toronto is looking at 5 years+, if all goes well. It's going to be tough for a coach with a winning record, accustomed to success, like Babcock, to going to managing 2 or 3 tank years ala Buffalo.
  15. Maybe Toronto thinks they're getting a Coach and a GM for one price? That would make his massive contract a bit more understandable, although a highly flawed strategy IMHO. Anyway, good luck with that Toronto. LOL. Leafs are about the only team that can make the Sabres look like a juggernaut of on-ice success.
  16. Julien? The coach of the despised Bruins???? Working for the Sabres??????? That's blasphemy! Next thing ya know, the Bills will be onboarding the coach of the hated New York Jets....... oh wait...... :P
  17. Yeah, but the difference being - most other fan bases at least enjoy some success now and then. I'm just a little bummed right now - if we could snare Quenneville or Sutter, this latest disappointment would be all forgotten. :)
  18. The Buffalo Cycle continues. Ebullience in the fan base at the prospect of landing a big name (in this case Babcock) and then when the inevitable fail occurs, the same fan base fatalistically shrugs its collective shoulders and offers a number of reasons why it really wasn't a good idea to be interested in that big name in the first place. LOL
  19. Buffalo ends up losing yet again. We'll never get a good coach.
  20. He got a big ovation from the crowd..... he's more popular than Alex Rodriguez is in Yankee Stadium? - LOL
  21. 8 goals scored by Putin in one exhibition game with NHL retired stars...... almost triple-hat-trick at age 62..... that's as many as Hodgson scored all season. If available, maybe he could spark the Sabres offense this fall? :) http://ftw.usatoday.com/2015/05/vladimir-putin-russia-hockey-goals
  22. What about the trejden did not pity his pose?
