  1. Lucic. Sorry. Get my scumbags mixed up from time to time. :)
  2. haha!!! The Sabres ARE only 5 points above last place in the League..... however it looks like with McDavid sidelined with a bad case of Romoitis, Edmonton is bucking for 2 tank seasons back to back. Maybe Edmonton is thinking at this point..... might as well?
  3. The OT line for the PP was great - Kane, Eichel, O'Reilly, and Risto. I thought it a wise choice by Dan. They just didn't get the job done - they came oh so close to getting the puck in the net though - lot of gasps from the Detroit crowd. :)
  4. How often would Brady himself draw this penalty of yours? He cries to the officials for flags after just about every Patriot play that doesn't go well.
  5. Was late last night when I first posted, and I was a bit tired. So so more thoughts; O'Reilly is VERY impressive, even more so when you get to see him play live. Great face off guy - when he wins a faceoff, you know it, the puck goes back about 30, 40 ft. LOL Kane had a great game!!! wow!!!! Risto - excellent D-man, with a powerhouse shot. Bogosian - same as Risto. Eichel - he plays good defense too, saw him force a couple turnovers. The other thing I loved seeing this team - a Red Wing gets "in the face" of a Sabre and the entire team responds immediately and aggressively. There would never be another Chara running Miller type incident - well, there might be, but the other team would pay a price. We lost, but we still earned a point in a tough road game against a quality opponent. I was proud of the Sabres and how far they've come this year; last year they were pathetic at this same time. I heard Wings fans behind me talking.... "The Sabres are a good team now!" LOL - yup. All my in-laws are Wings fans, as is my wife.
  6. I was at Joe Louis - that pointless and dumb penalty of Gionta's cost the Sabres the game. I'm so sick of Buffalo's undying affection for little smurfy players. I was looking at the team stats in the program - Detroit's shortest player is 5' 11"; why does Buffalo always get the vertically challenged ones? (Gerbe, Ennis, Gionta) It also doesn't help when the HC puts Moulson in the shootout long before Kane. Dunno if it showed on TV or not, but Abdelkader and Gorges got into little tiff again in the 3rd, which was confined to jaw jacking pretty much. Why didn't Bylsma just tell Gorges to push Abdelkader's button and get into it with him again - if both players get thrown out, Buffalo comes out ahead of the game, as Abdelkader is a heckuva a lot more dangerous threat to the Sabres than Gorges is to the Red Wings. And point of fact, it was Abdelkader who ended up scoring the tying goal in PP in the 3rd. Now, gripes aside this is still a vastly improved team over 2014. I saw the Sabres play the Wings in Detroit last December - and it was a night and day difference. The Sabres are a few pieces away from being a very good team.
  7. Going to the game with my son-in-law who is a Wings fan. He and I went to a Sabres/Wings game last December. Really looking forward to it!
  8. After 20 games, here's how the Sabres' 2015-16 season compares to the Chicago Blackhawks' 2007-08 season; their first season after their tank and rebuild; Buffalo - 8-12 Chicago - 11-8-1 So Chicago was 1 game ahead of .500, the Sabres are now 2 games behind .500. The last few games the Sabres have really sagged.
  9. Well, it's a game - for the last 1:15 seconds.
  10. So is Toronto going the Tank route this year, or are they actually trying to win and stay mired in mediocrity for the foreseeable future?
  11. Yup. Ennis should be on somebody's @#$%-list today. This guy is one of the STARS of the team, or at least that's how he's billed by the organization (Ennis' face is featured on the Sabres main web page across from Moulson's). He needs to be accountable.
  12. I'm fine with a challenge for goals made by running/charging the goalie; those goals shouldn't have been allowed in the first place; not to mention it's dirty play that can injure a goalie. But this offside stuff is Mickey Mouse, and destroys the flow of the game. I also think the offside reversal should ONLY apply if it has some tangible effect on whether the goal would be scored or not (a direct pass from outside the zone to the offside player who then bangs it into the net or gets an assist.). But some guy's skate being 1/2" over the line that didn't have the puck? It would make no friggin difference!!! How about just do away with the entire challenge ###### and add goalie interference and blown offsides to the elements reviewed by the officials when goals are scored?
  13. Maybe DB is hoping for chemistry to develop? While I want to see Eichel on fire, I agree with DB experimenting with the lines early in the season to get a feel for who will work together and not; He also has to give the lines time to mesh and sync for said chemistry to occur. I wouldn't want him to change lines too often, because then Chemistry is lost. In other words, give it a little more time. If after a few more games the Eichel/Ennis line is still a dud, then I'll be wondering myself why DB would keep them paired.
  14. It didn't seem like they put enough time back on the clock. I was watching a stream so I can't replay it; I was wondering why it only went back to 1:23.
  15. I guess the Wings could have challenged this by the Habs and didn't - Gallagher slammed right into Mrazek; it was first ruled a No-Goal then the damn officials ruled it a good goal even though he clearly crashed right into him. http://espn.go.com/blog/nhl/post/_/id/39819/rumblings-coachs-challenge-controversy-heats-up-after-wings-habs-game The young coach of the Wings didn't have the experience to know that he could challenge it for interference even after it was reviewed and ruled a good goal I was so angry when I saw it - I said to friends at the time that a goon from the Wings should have gone immediately to the other end and smashed into the Habs goalie - see how that dirty bunch likes it???
  16. I haven't seen it once in any Red Wings games. The only time I've seen it is in Sabres games; and it always goes against the Sabres. And the Sabres never challenge and win. Seems like a crock; wished a bunch of fans could escort those officials right out to their cars and explain its in their best interest to get out of town and maybe not return? Heck, they do that at soccer games in the 3rd world - lol
  17. Told ya the game was over with that coaches' challenge BS.
  18. The only time I've ever seen it is in Sabres games - I've watched a lot of Red Wings games this year, and haven't seen it happen in those. And it seems like everytime Buffalo loses, and never gets a challenge on anyone else. I'll have to see if there's a stat kept somewhere on it; This game is over.
  19. Looked like another Buffalo player offside just then that wasn't called - so if they score...
  20. Has any team been victimized by this crap other than Buffalo?
  21. There you go with that BS crap again
  22. Oh-Oh-Oh-Oh Reilly!!!!
  23. Nice work by Niemi getting the puck under control.
