That's predicated upon Regier actually selecting better players. This GM shows a decided preference in choosing soft players to build soft teams - why do you think he'll suddenly change after 16 or 17 years? There is zero reason for optimism.

If only it had been Stafford, Myers, and Pompomstein, then I'd start to feel more optimistic about the future. That's Squad Soft right there.

If only we could shed the real deadwood..... Stafford - only 5 goals and 13 points in 35 games, and a disgraceful -11 Myers - 3 goals, 7 points, and -6

I think I'm enjoying being lumped in with the other J Car-guy too much. :lol: Yeah, giving up only 2 to Bruins is pretty good - given how Boston managed to out-shoot the Sabres even though we had a 4-0 advantage on the power play. I think it's the other car guy that really hates on Miller. I will have criticisms of Miller (like 4 goals to Florida... really, Ryan?) but when he plays his A-game (which is generally most of the time) he's a cut above most of the goalies in the NHL. If you think this team looks bad in the standings now, imagine if an AVERAGE goalie was in the net instead of Ryan? This team would make Florida look good. Like that incredible win against the Islanders.... we stole that one - they out-shot us something like 3 to 1. I think what's kept us way out of the cellar this seasons so far - Ryan Miller and Vanek's hot streak early in the year. Otherwise we'd be looking UP at Florida. To me, this generally means your team played a soft game. I guess he is Ruffton after all. Saying something that stupid, well, I think he needs to go at the end of the season. Team needs to be scrapped at the end of the season, and start from scratch with a new GM and coach that aren't 'soft'.

Oh, there's a great idea - when you're down by 2 goals with 1 1/2 minutes left, make sure the hot hand of Drew Stafford is on the ice, and that the team makes it a priority to get him the puck.

Who knows? it's just something else to bitch about regarding this team and the way they've failed - the lack of shut outs. Miller's little problems with support from the team don't interest me - I want results, not excuses!!! ;)
